President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday honored Filipino singer-songwriter Gwyn Dorado for making history as the only foreign contestant to reach the Top 4 in South Korea’s singing competition Sing Again 4, ultimately finishing in second place.
Twenty-one-year-old Dorado, who is based in South Korea, paid a courtesy call on Marcos following a string of career milestones that have brought Filipino talent to the international spotlight.
After Sing Again 4, Dorado later emerged as the grand winner of the Netflix Korea reality music competition ‘Famous Singers Need a Hit Song,’ which ran from February to May 2026.
She also released original music in South Korea and contributed to the soundtrack of the South Korean romance-comedy series ‘My Royal Nemesis.’
Dorado’s international journey began at a young age. At 10, she became one of the grand finalists of the first season of ‘Asia’s Got Talent.’
