The Cyprus Fire Service highlights the importance of the role of K9 dogs of the Disaster Response Special Unit (D.R.S.U) in a post in social media, on the occasion of World Dog Day, on August 26, noting that they are valuable partners in the work of DRSU members.
“They are not just dogs. They are partners, companions, and valuable members of the Fire Service and the DRSU,” the post notes, adding that “behind every member of the K9 Team lie countless hours of training, discipline, and dedication.”
The Cyprus Fire Service notes that the K9 dogs “with their unique abilities, participate in search and rescue operations in rubble and building collapses, as well as in open terrain to locate missing persons,” emphasizing their dedication to their mission, through the unique collaborative relationship they have developed with their handlers.
