Popular Thi Lo Su waterfall reopens in Tak

The magnificent Thi Lo Su waterfall in Umphang district reopened to the public on Tuesday after being closed for two months to allow natural rehabilitation – but only for four-wheel-drive vehicles.

The management of Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary announced the reopening of the multi-tier waterfall, which is 500 metres wide and 250 metres high, the sixth biggest waterfall in Asia.

The announcement said the road to the waterfall is 25 kilometres long, consisting of concrete and dirt sections and visitors must be in four-wheel-drive vehicles with high clearance.

Cars, vans, motorcycles and conventional pickup trucks are prohibited from going to the waterfall.
