Dissevered body scattered along train tracks in Hat Yai

The dissevered body of a 62-year-old Myanmar man was found scattered along the railway track under the Lopburi Ramesuan twin bridges in Hat Yai, Songkhla, on Monday evening.

Police at Khlong Hae checkpoint received a report about 5pm of body parts being found near the tracks in Khlong U-Taphao community, tambon Khlong U-Taphao, Hat Yai district.

Investigators from Hat Yai police station, a duty doctor from Hat Yai Hospital and rescue workers from the Tong Sia Siang Tueng Foundation went to the scene.

The victim was identified as Kosan, 62. His remains were found scattered along more than 100 metres of track. A passport, flashlight, mobile phone, medicine packet, glasses and wallet were found at the scene.

Police believe he was struck while walking along or beside the tracks on Sunday evening, with the body discovered only the following day.

The body was sent to Hat Yai Hospital pending collection by relatives for religious rites. The police investigation remains open.
