Outdoor tourism and recreational activities in the Batangas tourist town of Nasugbu have resumed on Tuesday after a two-day suspension due to unfavorable weather conditions, the Municipal Tourism Office (MTO) said.
‘The suspension on outdoor activities is hereby lifted,’ the MTO announced in a Facebook post.
The tourism office reminded tourism establishments, tour operators, tour guides, and boat operators to continue observing necessary safety precautions and remain vigilant and updated on official weather advisories.
It also said appropriate measures, including postponing, canceling, or rescheduling of tourism activities, may be implemented if weather conditions become unsafe.
‘The safety and well-being of our residents, visitors, and tourists remain our top priority,’ the MTO said.
On Monday, the MTO suspended all outdoor recreational activities, including swimming, hiking, island excursions, and similar activities, because of inclement weather.
The latest suspension came after the tourism office also temporarily halted outdoor activities on Aug. 19 due to bad weather. The suspension was lifted the following day after weather conditions improved.
Nasugbu has been under a state of calamity following widespread flooding caused by heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon, or habagat.
