KPMG webinar on final tax payment and return filing as 2025/26 compliance cycle nears completion

With the Year of Assessment 2025/26 income tax compliance cycle approaching its final stages, businesses are required to give careful attention to the preparation of accurate tax computations, settlement of final tax liabilities, and timely filing of income tax returns.

These responsibilities extend beyond satisfying statutory requirements. Decisions and tax positions reflected in the current year’s return can have far-reaching consequences for future compliance and tax planning. At a time when tax reporting is facing greater scrutiny and the practical application of tax laws continues to present challenges, taxpayers need to ensure that their filing processes are approached with appropriate knowledge and clarity.

To support businesses and tax professionals during this important period, KPMG Sri Lanka Academy will conduct a webinar focused on final payment and return filing. The session will provide practical guidance on completing income tax computations, meeting final tax payment obligations, and successfully filing income tax returns for the Year of Assessment 2025/26.

The webinar will also look beyond the immediate filing cycle by considering how positions taken in the current year could affect tax compliance, reporting obligations, and planning for the Year of Assessment 2026/27. The expert-led discussion will seek to help participants navigate the filing season successfully, reduce potential compliance risks, and prepare proactively for emerging tax considerations.

Presenting at the webinar will be Principal – Head of Tax and Regulatory Suresh R. I. Perera, Principal – Tax and Regulatory Rifka Ziyard, and Director – Tax and Regulatory Hasna Hassan. The presenters will draw on their combined expertise to address current legislative challenges and practical considerations relevant to businesses operating in a changing tax environment.

The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, 16 September 2026, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM and will be conducted via MS Teams.
