Century Mining Company Limited is strengthening its partnership with Ririwai community through major investments in education, healthcare, economic empowerment, infrastructure and environmental sustainability.
Under the leadership of its Managing Director, Mr. Sada Sivarao, the company has implemented several community development initiatives aimed at improving living standards and creating opportunities for youths, women, students and other residents. In education, Century Mining Company has engaged 15 science teachers, each reportedly earning more than ?100,000 monthly, to support teaching in public schools within Ririwai.
The company has also invested approximately ?4 million in scholarships for 71 indigenous students studying at tertiary institutions. Students pursuing science and technology courses receive ?60,000 each, while those in other disciplines receive ?40,000.
In addition, about ?37 million has been committed to rehabilitating boys’ and girls’ secondary schools, including the provision of electricity, laboratory equipment and computers. Strengthening Healthcare
Healthcare is another major focus of the company’s community development programme.
On August 24, 2026, Century Mining Company commissioned an ?80 million electrification project for the Ririwai community health facility, designed to provide reliable power and improve healthcare delivery.
The company also provides medicines worth approximately ?1 million every month and has procured a scanning machine to strengthen maternal healthcare services.
The initiatives have been supported by the company’s Community Relations Officer and Chief Security Officer, Mr. Mukesh Sharma, who has been involved in strengthening engagement between the company and community stakeholders. Century Mining Company has provided employment opportunities to indigenous residents, helping families improve their livelihoods while contributing to economic activity within the community.
The installation of solar-powered streetlights at Ririwai Market has also extended business hours. Traders who previously closed early can now operate until midnight and sometimes later, attracting customers from neighbouring communities.
