Local busker-turned-rock star Nene Royal is inviting fans to attend her live show on Saturday night at Naka Night Market, where she began her music journey in her home province of Phuket – her final show before she flies to the United States to compete in the America’s Got Talent final.
The AGT Season 21 semifinals and finale are scheduled to begin on Sept 15 and conclude on Sept 23. The outcome is still anyone’s guess, but Saturday’s show could be a historic and rare occasion if the title goes to the 16-year-old contestant, whose real name is Rattikarn ‘Praew’ Amloy.
Nene Royal will perform with other members of the OZONE Band, her group of young rock and metal buskers who were well known on the tourist island before she rose to global prominence in July. The show is scheduled to start at 9pm. Live streaming will also be available on the band’s Facebook page.
Nene Royal and OZONE Band are the headliners of the free event, which will also feature performances by other young talents at the market.
‘We would like to invite everyone to boost my spirits before I fly to America to perform live in the AGT final,’ Nene said in an invitation video.
In the Live Show round last month, the teen rocker made history by reaching the AGT Grand Final after being awarded a Golden Buzzer by judge Mel B, who was highly impressed by Nene’s electrifying rendition of Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun.
