Ukraine’s military struck a Russian oil refi nery in Perm overnight, more than 1,600km from the Ukrainian border, President V o l o d y m y r Zelensky said.
Zelensky also reported a strike on the Marinovka military air base in Russia’s Volgograd region.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said Russian attacks had damaged or destroyed more than 300 gas fi lling stations in Ukraine over the past six months, causing signifi cant economic losses.
Ukraine’s Infrastructure Ministry said Russia attacked 52 civilian vessels in July and the fi rst half of August, including ships carrying food and other cargo to and from Ukrainian ports.
In Russia, authorities arrested eight people accused of planning an attack on a defense enterprise in the Moscow region using explosiveladen drones, while another foreign national was detained on suspicion of scouting government buildings and strategic infrastructure, Russian state media reported.
