The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) 2027 Governorship Candidate in Zamfara State, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, has begun consultations with stakeholders, saying he would resign if he did not achieve 75 percent in the fight against insecurity within two years if elected as Governor in the state.
The Zamfara NDC Candidate, who was speaking with newsmen on Wednesday evening at his residence in Gusau, disclosed that programmes were lined up to meet with NDC stakeholders and supporters in the state capital.
‘We meet with stakeholders for them to know who we are, interact with our people and different groups, though we are not new to the electorate.
‘What you have seen since when we arrive to the state would tell you our acceptance,’ he stated.
‘I have been a player in the politics of Zamfara with many things to say, I’m in the Zamfara Governorship race to contribute my quota and I hope to give the best.’
The NDC Governorship candidate assured that if given the mandate, he would do his best within his reach to address the issue of insecurity bedevilling the state.
‘If in two years of my administration as Governor have not achieved 75 percent on security issues I will resign’.
He further stressed that if given the mandate, from his first year of administration, he would put more pressure within his reach on the federal government on the issue of insecurity to ensure lasting peace in the state.
‘I’m not vying for Zamfara Governor to enrich my myself,’ Marafa maintained.
