Governors Alex Otti (Abia), Kabir Abba Yusuf (Kano), Dikko Umar Radda (Katsina), and Sheriff Oborevwori yesterday poured encomiums on First Lady Oluremi Tinubu as she celebrated her 66th birthday.
They described her as a rare national gem for touching many lives and showing compassion towards the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians through her humanitarian programmes.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Aviation and Aerospace Development Minister Festus Keyamo, House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and the Oyo State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Sharafadeen Alli also praised Mrs. Tinubu for complementing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
They described her as a woman of grace, dignity, compassion and uncommon strength.
Governor Otti praised Mrs. Tinubu for her impactful interventions through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which has empowered women, youths, farmers and families across the country and restored hope to many households.
In a congratulatory message in Kano through his Director-General of Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf applauded the First Lady’s commitment to initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of women, children, vulnerable persons and other Nigerians, noting that such interventions have significantly complemented the efforts of the Federal Government.
‘Her contributions to Kano State cannot go unnoticed, particularly in the areas of healthcare, social justice, economic empowerment, nutrition and support to elderly women and vulnerable families through cash grants and agricultural inputs, which have impacted millions of lives in Kano State over the last three years,’ he said.
Governor Radda described Mrs. Tinubu as a dignified and compassionate leader whose Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) has provided a genuine lifeline for vulnerable citizens across the country, particularly women, children, and persons living with disabilities.
In a congratulatory message yesterday in Asaba, the state capital, by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori described Senator Tinubu as an ‘Amazon’ whose public engagements and humanitarian interventions have continued to complement the Federal Government’s efforts in addressing the needs of vulnerable citizens.
In a statement he personally signed, Akpabio described the First Lady as ‘a remarkable woman’.
He added: ‘Your Excellency, your life reflects faith, service, sacrifice and quiet strength. From the classroom to public office, the Senate and the position of First Lady, you have demonstrated that leadership is measured by its impact on people’s lives.
‘Through your compassion for the vulnerable, advocacy for women and children, and the interventions of the Renewed Hope Initiative, you continue to advance the hope of a better Nigeria.’
In a birthday message posted on his X handle, Keyamo noted that the First Lady deserved all the accolades and more on her 66th birthday for her ‘uncommon large-heartedness and compassion for the poor and vulnerable’.
In his birthday message to the First Lady, Kalu said: ‘Your Excellency, your life of service continues to demonstrate that leadership finds its highest expression in compassion. Through your interventions across the states of our federation, particularly your commitment to empowering women, supporting families and vulnerable citizens, and investing in the hopes and aspirations of young Nigerians, you have brought a profoundly human face to the administration of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
‘Your remarkable commitment to raising funds for the renovation and completion of the National Library of Nigeria is especially symbolic of your vision for the future. A nation that invests in its libraries invests in the minds of its children.’
Obasa expressed the Lagos State House of Assembly’s gratitude to Mrs. Tinubu for the foundational role and enduring guidance she provided during her tenure as wife of the state governor.
He noted that her political mentorship shaped many leadership journeys in the state and beyond, adding: ‘Your transition from the state level to becoming a three-term Senator and now the First Lady of the Federal Republic has been a masterclass in purposeful public service.’
In his congratulatory message, Alli described the First Lady as a woman of uncommon grace, compassion, courage and commitment to national development.

‘Your Excellency, you are another level of humanitarianism. Your compassion is profound, your heart is large, and your commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians is truly remarkable.
