A lawyer in Kano, Hamisu Dandago, has been arraigned before a Kano court over alleged forgery and dissemination of false information.
Dandago, who denied the allegations, was accused of preparing a document in the name of a company and presenting it before the court in an attempt to withdraw a case.
According to the charge, the defendant allegedly forged the document and used it in connection with the court proceedings.
His counsel, Barrister Danjuma Hussaini, applied for his bail, while the prosecution counsel, Barrister A’isha Bashir Minjibir, did not oppose the application.
Ruling on the application, Magistrate Haulatu Magaji Kankarofi granted the defendant bail, with a condition that his sureties would forfeit N500,000 each if he jumped bail.
