Makinde’s wife rallies Oyo women to support APM ahead of 2027 elections

Wife of the Oyo State Governor, Tamunominini Makinde, has called on women across the state to support the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and all its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

She said the support is necessary to ensure continuity and for dividends of democracy to cut across all parts of the state.

Speaking on Tuesday in Ibadan during a Women Stakeholders Engagement meeting, the governors wife noted that the role of women in ensuring good governance cannot be over-emphasized.

She said women play a pivotal role in governance and urged them to actively participate in the 2027 elections at both state and federal levels.

‘I thank the women for supporting my husband and the APM, you have made tremendous impact and you will continue to make impact.’

She however called on residents of the state, particularly women, to give their total support to her husband, APM governorship candidate in the state, Bimbo Adekanbi, and all other candidates of the party in the 2027 elections.

In her opening remarks, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion in the state, Alhaja Faosat Sani said Governor Makinde and his wife has been delivering dividends of democracy across the state, saying people particularly women in the state should respond with their total loyalty and support for Mankinde’s aspiration.

She said women across the state must aligned and support APM, calling on the women to stand in unity and mobilise people in their community for the good work to continue and move ahead so as to have a prosperous Oyo state.

She said, ‘We are here to welcome you back after long sojourn, we thank God that you came back more energetic and fully back to take all of us to greater heights.

‘Today’s gathering showed that thing has been working for us, women should keep it up. We have alot ahead of us, development in Oyo state must not be stop by an individual or any group.’

In her remark, Hon. Comforter Olajide said the task ahead is enormous, noting that women across the state are capable in supporting Makinde’s dream to become reality considering the good work Makinde has done in Oyo state.

She said, ‘Women, do not relent, i want you to know that we can do it, lets sing unity, achievement, no impossibility for us as far as APM is concerned, we are ready to move APM forward and to take charge.’

Dignitraries at the event include the Oyo state Head of Service, Dr. Adenike Fasina, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, and Hon. Bisi Oluranti among others.
