Xyriel Manabat, Juan Karlos Labajo win top acting honors at CinePanalo 2026

Xyriel Manabat and Juan Karlos Labajo took home the top acting honors at the 2026 CinePanalo Film Festival, with Manabat winning Panalong Aktres for ‘Stuck on You’ and Labajo named Panalong Aktor for ‘Mono No Aware.’

Manabat accepted her award during the festival’s awarding ceremony on Thursday night, Sept. 30, where she thanked the organizers for providing opportunities to filmmakers and artists.

‘Salamat po sa lahat ng bumubuo ng CinePanalo Film Festival. Hindi lang po kayo panalo sa larangan ng sinehan. Panalong panalo rin po kayo sa larangan ng pagbibigay ng plataporma at inclusivity,’ she said.

‘Salamat kasi binibigyan niyo po ng tiwala at pagkakataon ang mga tunay na nagmamahal sa sining,’ added the Kapamilya actress.

Labajo, meanwhile, was not present at the ceremony to receive his award.

‘Mono No Aware,’ directed by BC Amparado and led by Labajo and Perry Dizon, also dominated the full-length category, winning Pinaka Panalong Pelikula, Panalong Direktor for Amparado, Panalong Pangalawang Aktres for Momoko Kobayashi, as well as awards for international jury, sound design, editing, ensemble and cinematography.

Zanjoe Marudo won Panalong Pangalawang Aktor for ‘Apol of My Ai,’ while Zion Cruz was named Panalong Child Performer for the same film.

Cinemagoers can still catch and watch the entries as the festival runs until Oct. 4 at select cinemas in Metro Manila.
