President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, as an invaluable partner in nation-building and delivering good governance as the lawmaker marks his 61st birthday.
Tinubu, in a congratulatory message on Thursday, praised Abbas for what he described as his deep knowledge, wisdom, integrity and pursuit of excellence, saying these qualities had contributed to the stability of the House of Representatives.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President also commended the Speaker for supporting the implementation of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
‘I commend the Speaker’s deep knowledge, wisdom, integrity, and drive for excellence, which are evident in the many impactful bills passed and the stability in the House. I thank him for his support in implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda’, Tinubu said.
Tinubu joined the Speaker’s family, friends, associates and constituents in Zaria in celebrating him, describing him as an exceptional lawmaker whose contribution to governance remained valuable.
Abbas, who holds the traditional title of Iyan Zazzau of the Zaria Emirate, has represented Zaria Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives since 2011.
He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and Usmanu Dan Fodio University before entering national politics.
The Speaker turned 61 amid tributes from political associates, including his deputy, Benjamin Kalu, who also praised his leadership of the 10th House.
Tinubu prayed for continued good health and long life for Abbas as he continues leading the House of Representatives.
‘I pray for many more years and good health for Speaker Abbas as he continues to provide disciplined leadership in the House of Representatives’, the President said.
