Nigeria @66: Our sacrifices will yield stronger Nigeria – Dafinone

Senator Ede Dafinone, representing the Delta Central Senatorial District, said the sacrifices tied to Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms will yield a stronger, more prosperous country.

In his message marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary on Thursday, Dafinone acknowledged the economic hardship many Nigerians face, but said the emerging results of the Federal Government’s reforms should encourage citizens as efforts continue to restore stability and improve living conditions.

‘I acknowledge the hardship many Nigerians are experiencing and the sacrifices required by the ongoing economic reforms,’ Dafinone said.

‘These are difficult times, but the emerging results of the Tinubu administration’s reforms should strengthen our resolve to persevere as the government works to restore stability, expand opportunities and improve the lives of our people.’

The senator also felicitated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the people of the Delta Central Senatorial District and Nigerians across the country on the Independence anniversary.

According to him, the occasion should remind Nigerians of their collective responsibility to preserve the country’s unity and help build a peaceful and prosperous nation.

‘On Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, I warmly felicitate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori; the people of the Delta Central Senatorial District; and all Nigerians,’ he said.

‘This occasion reminds us of our shared responsibility to preserve our unity and work towards a peaceful and prosperous nation.’

Drawing inspiration from the Scripture that ‘weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning,’ Dafinone urged Nigerians to continue praying for President Tinubu and to support his administration’s policies as the country navigates its economic challenges.

‘I urge Nigerians to remain resilient, continue to pray for President Tinubu and support the policies of his administration as we navigate this period of national economic adjustment,’ he said.

Dafinone also called for continued cooperation between the Federal Government and the Delta State Government, saying collaboration between both levels of government was important for development, investment, and creating opportunities for the people.

‘I also call on the people of Delta Central and Delta State to continue to pray for and support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori,’ he said.

‘Cooperation between the Federal Government and Delta State is essential to advancing development, attracting investment and creating greater opportunities for our people.’

The Delta Central lawmaker said national unity and cooperation would be critical to building a country where citizens could pursue their aspirations and benefit from greater economic opportunities.

‘Together, we can build a new Nigeria where peace prevails and every citizen has the opportunity to pursue and achieve their dreams,’ Dafinone said.

‘If we remain united and persevere through this difficult season, a brighter chapter lies ahead. Happy Independence Day, Nigeria. God bless Delta Central, Delta State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.’
