Actress and filmmaker Mary Njoku has called on clergymen to focus on practical solutions rather than spiritualising every problem.
The mother of three made the call in a post on her Instagram page, where she decried the trend of pastors offering spiritual answers to issues that require practical action.
While criticising the practice, Njoku acknowledged that some pastors still use their platforms responsibly to promote positive change.
‘Stop offering spiritual solutions to problems that require practical action. There are still good pastors using their platforms to encourage responsibility, action and positive change. Let’s deliberately celebrate and amplify them,’ she wrote.
In an earlier post, she lashed out at Christians who weaponise scripture to shield wrongdoing, particularly the phrase ‘touch not my anointed’.
According to her, the scripture applies only when someone is falsely accused, lied against and deliberately targeted.
She stressed that no one is perfect, including men of God, and urged people to take responsibility for their actions while extending grace to others.
