Armed robbers take nearly B30m from Chinese residents of Chon Buri mansion

Three armed robbers held the Chinese occupants of a luxury residence at gunpoint before escaping with cash and assets worth a combined nearly 30 million baht on Tuesday.

The robbery took place at the residence in a luxury housing estate in tambon Nong Prue of Bang Lamung district at 3.30am.

According to local police, three robbers carrying guns used a ladder to enter the house. They proceeded to break into the home’s bedrooms and held the Chinese nationals residing within at gunpoint. They ordered their victims to empty out the contents of their safes as well as transfer digital assets.

The occupants of the home were robbed of cash, valuables and other assets estimated at a combined value of close to 30 million baht. This included about 150,000 baht in cash, three Rolex watches and digital currency worth about 27 million baht.

Detectives have interrogated the victims and assume the attackers were also Chinese.

Pol Lt Gen Wasant Techa-akarakasem, commissioner of the Provincial Police Regionn 2, said officers were collecting evidence, tracking the stolen digital assets and looking to identify the suspects using information from immigration police.
