Joash Amupitan, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), disclosed the figure on Tuesday at a press conference marking 100 days to the 2027 general elections.

The national register stands at 103,228,715 voters following the completion of the ABIS verification exercise.
The figure puts Lagos ahead of Kano, which has 6,570,276 voters.
Kaduna ranks third with 4,662,640, while Katsina has 3,876,051 and Rivers has 3,736,434.

Ogun – 3,037,981
Bauchi – 3,012,547
Together, the 10 states account for more than 41 million registered voters, making them particularly significant in the distribution of Nigeria’s electoral population.
Voters below 50 make up the majority of the register
The two youngest categories: voters aged 18 to 34 and those aged 35 to 49 together account for 73,043,522 voters, or about 70.8 percent of the national register.
This means more than seven out of every 10 registered voters are below 50 years old.
The largest single group, however, remains voters aged 35 to 49, accounting for more than four in every 10 registered voters.
The 18-34 group has 29,777,576 voters, the 35-49 group has 43,265,946, while those aged 50-69 number 22,986,900.
Only 7,402,291 registered voters are aged 70 years and above.
