A CY-ALERT message warning for severe weather at orange awareness level was sent at 1.47pm on Wednesday to residents in the districts of Paphos and Limassol, as well as parts of Larnaca.
According to the Civil Defence, the message said that ‘barometric low associated with heavy thunderstorms is expected to affect the area’. ‘In storms winds will be variable with strong gusts while hail is also likely. Valid from 1500 hours until 0500 tomorrow’.
