Ibom Angels defeated Pelican Stars 3-0 at the Uyo Township Stadium yesterday completing their two pre-season meetings with a draw and a victory.
Favour Enodumwenben gave the hosts a fifth-minute lead heading Happiness Agboye’s corner into the bottom corner. Agboye added the second in the 33rd minute lifting a composed right-footed finish over the advancing goalkeeper after breaking through on goal.
Pelican Stars threatened before half-time: one effort was cleared off the line and another struck the post. Their missed opportunities proved costly as Ibom Angels took a two-goal lead into the interval.
Ogechi Chinedu made it three on the hour reacting to a poor clearance from a corner and lifting the loose ball over the goalkeeper. The win followed a 1-1 draw between the teams in Calabar the previous weekend giving both clubs another chance to assess their squads ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Women Football League season.
