Actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh has opened up about her relationship with God and addressed misconceptions about her faith journey.
Speaking at a conference the evangelist clarified that her walk with Christ did not begin recently as many assume.
According to her people wrongly believe she recently gave her life to Christ whereas she has always been in Christ.
Tonto revealed that she knew God at a very young age and was on track to be ordained a pastor as a teenager.
She further explained that God communicated every message she claims he gave her privately.
The actress also noted that her public declaration as an evangelist did not mark the beginning of her spirituality but was only a public affirmation of a long-standing relationship with God.
She said ‘Everything I said God told me; he told me in private. There’s a misconception about when I came out and when I gave my life to Christ; I’ve always been in Christ to the point where I was going to be ordained a pastor at 17 years old.’
In August Tonto Dikeh announced the launch of her interdenominational fellowship New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle (NWPT) based in Abuja.
She announced it on her Instagram page and described NWPT as an ‘interdenominational altar spiritual home and global movement of consecrated believers.’
According to the actress the fellowship was established to create a space for prayer revival spiritual growth and experiencing the ‘raw power purity and presence of God.’
