Eli Soyud erupted for 30 points in Akari’s come-from-behind 25-22, 25-27, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12 win over Farm Fresh in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series on Tuesday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Soyud finished with 27 kills, two blocks, and an ace, including the game-winning backrow hit to complete the Chargers’ second straight win, tying the Foxies with identical 2-2 records.
With the fifth set tied at 11, Trisha Tubu missed her serve before Mars Alba scored on a kill off a floating ball and Fifi Sharma followed with a kill block to give Akari match point at 14-11.
Soyud missed her next serve but made up for it with the finishing backrow hit off Alba’s D-ball play, an attack directed toward the right-back position for the opposite hitter, to end the two-hour, 45-minute match. Alba finished with 22 excellent sets and eigth points, leading the team in blocks with three. Ivy Lacsina delivered 21 points and 17 excellent receptions. Fifi Sharma had 11, while Faith Nisperos sparked the bench with five points and 10 digs, while Justine Jazareno had 23 excellent digs.
Akari coach Tina Salak missed her second straight match during the Chargers’ winning streak. The team declined to answer questions about its tactician.
‘The character is already there in each of our players. We just need to bring it out. Maybe we’ve developed a better connection with one another, allowing us to translate what each player wants to do on the court into points,’ said Akari deputy coach Eddieson Orcullo in Filipino.
Akari has a week-long break before facing Galeries Tower at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Farm Fresh, meanwhile, has yet to string together consecutive wins in the series despite Tubu’s 25-point effort. Royse Tubino and Mylene Paat-Rezanova added 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Farm Fresh’s next match is on Thursday next week against sister team ZUS Coffee at Philsports Arena.
