Oyebanji reappoints three commissioners, seeks approval for 10 special advisers

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has sought the approval of the House of Assembly to reappoint three commissioners who served in his first-term administration and appoint 10 special advisers.

In a letter dated October 26 and addressed to Speaker Adeoye Aribasoye, the governor sought the screening and confirmation of the nominees barely 10 days after his inauguration for a second term.

The commissioners named for reappointment are: Dayo Apata (SAN)- Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice; Akintunde Oyebode – Commissioner for Finance; and Dr. Oyebanji Filani – Commissioner for Health and Human Services.

The request is part of the governor’s efforts to constitute key components of his administration early and ensure continuity in critical sectors of governance.

The state government described the justice, finance, and health portfolios as crucial to effective take-off of the new administration, particularly in view of prevailing developments in the country.

The request comes as Oyebanji begins his second term with a focus on sustaining governance and strengthening service delivery across the state.
