A 35-year-old man who had been reported missing was found dead in a village in Santa Cruz, Occidental Mindoro on Friday morning, Oct. 30, police said.
The victim’s body was discovered at around 9:30 a.m. in Sitio Amnay, Barangay Barahan, after a farmer reportedly spotted his white Honda XRM 125 motorcycle in the area, according to the Santa Cruz Municipal Police Station.
Investigators said the man was last seen riding the motorcycle before he went missing.
Police officers immediately proceeded to the area after receiving the report and coordinated with the Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) to conduct a crime scene investigation and gather and preserve potential evidence.
The Santa Cruz police did not disclose further details about the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.
Authorities said they were continuing their investigation to establish what happened, identify those responsible, and bring them to justice.
The police urged anyone with information that could help the investigation to report to the nearest police station or directly contact the Santa Cruz Municipal Police Station.
