The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has unveiled a 325-member campaign council for next year’s general election.
At the helm of the council are Senate President Senator Godswill who was named the grand patron and Michael Afangideh patron.
Akpabio’s wife Ekaette is also a member of the council which will be chaired by Governor Eno Umo.
Umo’s deputy Akon Eyakenyi is first vice and Minister of Petroleum Resources(Gas) Ekperikpe Ekpo Ekpo second vice chairman.
Secretary to the State Government(SSG) Enobong Uwah some serving commissioners key political stakeholders from the 31 local government areas of the state and some of the council members.
A former Nigerian Ambassador to Russia and Belarus Assam Assam (SAN) is the council’s director-general.
A statement by the state chairman of the APC Stephen Ntukekpo said: ‘The party wishes to clarify that the list as presently released is not exhaustive. Efforts are ongoing to ensure that all relevant sectors interests and stakeholders are adequately represented in keeping with the party’s commitment to inclusivity and broad-based participation.’
The party urged all members of the council to commence consultations immediately but is awaiting their inauguration and launch.
