Tinubu-Shettima, most formidable ticket in Nigeria’s history, says Yilwatda

All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda yesterday described the joint ticket of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as the most formidable political combination in Nigeria’s democratic history.

Yilwatda spoke at the Rainbow Coalition Presidential Campaign Rally held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

President Tinubu,he said, deserves a second term in office to consolidate his administration’s bold economic reforms and transformative infrastructure projects.

The APC National Chairman emphasised that the ruling party’s presidential ticket embodies seasoned political experience, vision, and tested courage needed to guide the nation toward lasting economic recovery.

He said:’The most formidable presidential ticket we have ever produced in Nigeria is the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.

‘We have a candidate in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is fearless, courageous, and determined to confront the challenges of our country. He has demonstrated the capacity to take difficult decisions in the national interest, and he has remained resolute in pursuing the transformation of Nigeria.’

Highlighting the economic trajectory of the current administration, the party chief noted that President Tinubu inherited severe fiscal constraints, including an unsustainable fuel subsidy regime and mounting financial obligations.

He defended key policy shifts-such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the foreign exchange window-as imperative measures to rescue the national economy from structural decay.

While acknowledging the economic friction experienced by Nigerian households and businesses following these policy adjustments, Yilwatda assured the public that targeted social interventions, stabilisation measures, and strategic infrastructure programs are actively mitigating the impact.

Addressing the administration’s physical development footprint, the APC Chairman pointed to major highway corridors and superhighway projects currently underway across the country as catalysts for long-term industrialisation, regional integration, and trade expansion.

‘We have a President who understands that development cannot happen without infrastructure,’ Yilwatda stated.

‘He has initiated an ambitious infrastructure revolution through major highway projects that will connect different parts of Nigeria, open up economic corridors, facilitate the movement of goods and services, and create new opportunities for our people. These are not merely road projects; they are investments in the future of our country.’

He hailed the brains behind the Rivers State cross-party consensus behind President Tinubu’s administration. He praised political leaders, including Rivers State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chief Nyesom Wike, and leaders of the Rainbow Coalition for prioritising national interest and continuity over partisan divides.

He was confident that the state would return overwhelming votes for the APC in the upcoming elections.

‘Come 2027, we want to continue with this reformer and performer as our President. That is why the coalition and the people of Rivers State, irrespective of political party, have decided to work together for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,’ Yilwatda said.

‘Come January 2027, Rivers State will stand still. With the mobilisation capacity of the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, and other political leaders and stakeholders, we are confident that Rivers will deliver maximum votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.’
