Josh Allen’s Touchdown Celebrated With Wife Hailee Steinfeld’s ‘Love Myself’

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had the support of wife Hailee Steinfeld after scoring a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs.

After Allen’s play in the Sunday, November 2, game, the NFL celebrated by playing Steinfeld’s “Love Myself” in the background.

“Whoever decided to play a Hailee Steinfeld during a Josh Allen TD replay commercial break sequence should get a raise,” one user wrote via X, alongside the clip. “Go Bills and FUKC.”

Months before the NFL season began, Allen, 29, tied the knot with Steinfeld, 28, in California. For the May ceremony, Steinfeld rocked a custom white strapless Tamara Ralph gown, with opera gloves and a long white veil.

Josh Allen Calls Hailee Steinfeld Wedding ‘Best Night of My Life’ in Doc

“Josh says we have to talk about my dress now because I ‘stunned’ him when I got to the altar,” Steinfeld wrote in her “Beau Society” newsletter in June. “It’s easily the most perfect gown I’ve ever put on my body. Tamara Ralph designed it custom for me. Her tailoring is exquisite. We were on the tightest timeline. Six weeks before the wedding, my mom and I flew to Paris straight from the Sinners premiere in London for the fitting. I really had to lean into the whole ‘trust the process’ thing and thank God for Rob, Mariel, Tamara and her team for pulling it all together in time.”

The couple, who have been romantically linked since 2023, opted to have their nuptials be a phone-free occasion.

“We had the amazing [wedding photographer] Jose Villa and his team with us from Thursday through Sunday to capture all the love. We had a no-phone wedding — we wanted everyone to come and be present,” Steinfeld wrote. “Looking back, it was one of the best decisions we made. But that meant Jose had his work cut out for him, capturing all the magic for us.”

Elsewhere in the newsletter, Steinfeld gushed that the day was “perfect — the whole entire thing.” She added, “It’s been a whole 13 days of being married, and we’ll be staying on this high forever!”

When Allen was asked in June about the recent events in his life, the NFL player noted that all of his achievements have “been big” before pointing to his milestone moment with Steinfeld.

“None other than marrying my best friend,” he said during a press conference in a video obtained by TMZ. “She makes everything easier. I don’t really focus on the other stuff, that was the most important decision I’ll make in my life, and I made the right one.”

Steinfeld, meanwhile, has been cheering Allen on throughout his career. In a 2024 issue of her newsletter, the Pitch Perfect actress gushed about watching him play.

“Football season is back, which means a few things,” Steinfeld wrote at the time. “I get to watch my favorite person continue to make NFL history every week (go off 17) [and] we’re just a few weeks away from drastic temperature drops … where you’ll find me drinking hot chocolate bundled in vintage Bills gear.”

President Donald Trump Suggests It’s ‘Illegal’ for Seth Meyers to Mock Him

President Donald Trump is taking aim at yet another late night host after previously attacking Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert.

Seth Meyers of NBC may be the least talented person to ‘perform’ live in the history of television,” the president wrote via his social media platform Truth Social on Saturday, November 1. “In fact, he may be the WORST to perform, live or otherwise. I watched his show the other night for the first time in years. In it he talked needlessly about electric catapults on aircraft carriers which I complain about as not being as good as much less expensive steam catapults.”

He continued, “On and on he went, a truly deranged lunatic. Why does NBC waste its time and money on a guy like this??? – NO TALENT, NO RATINGS, 100% ANTI TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!”

Meyers has yet to publicly respond to President Trump’s online rant, though it is one of many social media posts from the Commander-in-chief targeting the hosts of various late night programs.

Everything Jimmy Kimmel Has Said About Being Taken Off the Air and His Return

After ABC briefly took Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air following host Kimmel’s remarks over the untimely death of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk, the president openly celebrated the move — one that appeared politically motivated after the Trump administration’s chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Brendan Carr, threatened ABC, Disney and Kimmel.

“Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED,” Trump wrote on September 17. “Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.”

The president then set his sights on the remaining late night hosts, Meyers and Jimmy Fallon.

“Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible,” Trump continued in the same post. “That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT.”

One hour prior to the show’s return on September 23, President Trump again took to Truth Social to threaten ABC for bringing back Kimmel’s program.

“I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back,” Trump wrote at the time. “The White House was told by ABC that his show was canceled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE and his ‘talent’ was never there. Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE.”

Rosie O’Donnell and Donald Trump’s Longstanding Feud Explained

He continued, “He is yet another arm of the DNC and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution. I think we’re going to test ABC out on this. Let’s see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad Ratings.”

Kimmel tripled his regular viewership during his late night return following his dubious suspension. A reported 6.26 million viewers tuned in to watch him retake the stage on September 24, according to an ABC press release. The host performed higher than normal in the 18 to 49 demographic, earning the episode its “highest regularly scheduled episode in over 10 years.”

Norman Chisale: The triple star in Malawi’s political arena

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi’s political circles are abuzz with discussions surrounding Norman Chisale, the man who seems to wear not one, not two, but three powerful hats.

Recently appointed as the Deputy Minister of Homeland Security, Chisale also serves as a Member of Parliament and continues to hold his long-standing role as the senior bodyguard to former President Arthur Peter Mutharika.

His unique combination of duties has earned him the nickname “the triple star” among political observers and the public alike.

Many Malawians are curious and even skeptical about how Chisale manages to balance these demanding responsibilities that span the security and political spheres.

During the official opening of the 52nd Session of Parliament in Lilongwe, Chisale once again caught national attention when he appeared performing dual roles standing as both a legislator and the president’s close protection officer.

His simultaneous presence in both capacities highlighted his distinctive position within Malawi’s governance landscape.

Political analysts say Chisale’s rise demonstrates both loyalty and political resilience.

Having served in the Malawi Defense Force before becoming Mutharika’s trusted aide, Chisale has built a career grounded in discipline and proximity to power.

Now, as Deputy Minister of Homeland Security, his new responsibilities include overseeing national security matters, immigration, and internal affairs roles that require both political tact and operational expertise.

However, his multiple roles have sparked debate on ethics and governance

Critics argue that holding overlapping positions could blur professional boundaries and create potential conflicts of interest, while supporters view it as a testament to Chisale’s competence and dedication to national service.

For now, Chisale remains unfazed by public scrutiny.

His message to Malawians has been consistent: commitment to duty, loyalty to leadership, and service to the nation.

Whether he can continue to excel in his three demanding roles remains to be seen but one thing is certain, Norman Chisale has firmly established himself as one of Malawi’s most intriguing political figures.

Recently, Chisale has found himself entangled in a series of legal battles with the outgoing Malawi Congress Party (MCP)–led government.

Over the past few years, he has been pushed back and forth through the country’s court system, facing multiple charges ranging from alleged abuse of office to financial misconduct.

The legal turbulence resulted in several of his personal and business accounts being frozen, a move that drew widespread attention from both his supporters and critics.

Chisale, however, has consistently maintained his innocence, describing the cases as politically motivated attempts to tarnish his image and silence him for his perceived loyalty to the former president, Arthur Peter Mutharika.

Macaulay Culkin’s ‘Home Alone’ Turns 35: Look Back at the Holiday Classic

It’s been 35 years since Macaulay Culkin’s anarchy single-handedly saved his ridiculously lavish suburban Chicago home from the mischievous Wet Bandit duo — and Home Alone has cemented itself as a must-watch holiday staple ever since.

Hitting theaters on Nov. 16, 1990, Home Alone turned a then 10-year-old Culkin into a holiday icon. As Kevin McCallister, accidentally ditched by his family at Christmas, he’s left to fend off two bumbling burglars with cartoon-caliber brilliance. (A booby trap of broken tree ornaments? Genius!) Decades later, the Chris Columbus-directed “family comedy without the family” (as it was billed) still airs on repeat every winter.

“I think it helps fill that holiday movie hold that is calling back to Miracle on 34th Street or March of the Wooden Soldiers,” Michael C. Maronna, a.k.a. Kevin’s older brother Jeff, exclusively tells Us Weekly while looking back on the holiday classic. “Maybe those things you watch as a family that helps parents, in that way, get their kids’ hopes up for some sort of excellent ninja, defend-my-house holiday [experience].”

Keep scrolling to take a look back at the legacy of Home Alone, with new exclusive behind the scenes details and more:

A pitch-perfect ensemble: Culkin starred as the enterprising Kevin, with Catherine O’Hara and John Heard as his frazzled parents and Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as Harry and Marv, the slapstick “Wet Bandits.”

The extended McCallister kid crew — 11 in total — included Macaulay’s little brother Kieran Culkin and Maronna, who remembers the set’s frenetic energy: “I don’t think you can have fun without chaos,” he says. “I think we were a good spread of ages and a lot of us were distant hires … We kind of had that, ‘New Yorkers soldiering on in the Illinois winter’ about us. It was great. It was good.”

John Candy even popped in for a memorable cameo as Gus Polinski, “Polka King of the Midwest.”

WHY WE REMEMBER IT

As Maronna puts it, Home Alone contains a sense of “rebellion” blended with a “mother’s tender love,” culminating in the perfect balance of childhood and heart. Add in that laugh-out-loud “cartoony violence,” and it’s lightning in a bottle.

As for the frenetic “energy” of the ensemble scenes fans enjoy so much, Maronna says there were real-life factors that helped the extensive McAllister family come alive so vividly.

“John Heard was going through a divorce, my parents were going through a divorce. [Everyone] knows about the Culkin family already. Just the rebellion of different generations is a big part of the energy of the plot of the film as well,” he says. “It’s like this, ‘I don’t need you. I’m living alone’ [feeling].”

He points out that the brief but memorable Candy cameo also helps take Home Alone to the next level. “You couldn’t improve an ‘80s film more by adding anybody besides John Candy,” he says.

Columbus and writer/producer John Hughes thrived on spontaneity and encouraged improv. Maronna recalls feeling “very free” on set “as someone who was working on that level for the first time.” Macaulay has said he improvised “a lot” of Kevin’s lines, including the famous grocery store scene, and most of O’Hara and Candy’s work was also off the cuff.

“We’d start a ridiculous conversation and go as far as we could,” she recalled to E! News in 2015. “Chris told me later we couldn’t use most of it.”

THE AFTERMATH

HOME ALONE 2: LOST IN NEW YORK, Macaulay Culkin, 1992, TM and Copyright (c)20th Century Fox Film Cor
)20th Century Fox Film Corp

Home Alone was a global sensation, taking in more than $476 million at the box office, a level of success that changed many of the actors’ lives forever. On sudden fame, Maronna quips: “When I ended up getting bullied — that was when I knew I had made it. A big tough kid picked me up by the shirt, like an ’80s movie. He was like, ‘Want to know where they’re gonna film Home Alone 2 so I can do my graffiti tags, and they’ll see it on the set!’ I have no idea where he is now.”

After 1992’s Home Alone 2: Lost in New York reunited the cast — delivering a nearly as beloved follow up — more sequels followed with new characters, but none captured the original’s magic. At least Macaulay reprised his role for a funny Home Alone–themed Google Assistant spot — 2018’s most popular holiday commercial!

A NEW PERSPECTIVE

Every stunt was completely practical — no CGI — which is partly why Home Alone hits differently even today. Columbus told the Today show in 2020 that he thought the stuntmen, who were asked to flip down stairs, fall from ceilings and slam into brick walls, were dead multiple times during the two films, calling it “terrifying to watch.” (Columbus confirmed that nobody “ever got hurt” on set, despite his high anxieties.)

Stern, meanwhile, got a bloody nose from the doggy door. And the infamous tarantula moment? All too real: “Everyone seemed cool with it, so I just had them put the friggin’ tarantula on my face!” he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2015.

Macaulay was honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2023, while brother Kieran is an Emmy, Golden Globe and Oscar winner. O’Hara had a recent beloved run on Schitt’s Creek. Maronna, after finding success as Big Pete on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete from 1989 to 1996, pivoted to working behind the camera as an on-set electrician. He’s currently rigging electric on the Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, a new Tracy Morgan show set to hit NBC sometime in the near future.

I’ve been working as an electrician for a long time, and then I went into rigging, which is getting things set up,” Maronna tells Us, sharing that he first became interested in behind the scenes work on the Pete & Pete set. “It’s fun to solve problems.”

Stern, meanwhile, can be found on TV shows like Shrill and For All Mankind. Pesci has largely stepped back from the spotlight, but his legacy, like those of the late Hughes, Candy and Heard, remain untouchable.

Convicted Child Rapist Steven van de Velde Denied Visa for Championship

A Dutch beach volleyball player convicted of raping a 12-year-old child has been denied entry in Australia ahead of a coveted worldwide competition.

Steven van de Velde, 31, was scheduled to represent his country at the upcoming Beach Volleyball World Championships in Adelaide, South Australia, from November 14 through the 23.

The BBC reported Van de Velde was refused entry on October 27.

“We took into account that the combination of the Australian authorities’ policy and my past might pose a problem for obtaining a visa,” van de Velde reportedly said in reaction to authorities denying his entry, per The Athletic. “This outcome is not only unacceptable to me, but also to the rest of the team with whom we have been working closely all year.”

Where Is Kerri Strug Now? Legendary Olympic Gymnast Has Surprising Job

In 2016, van de Velde was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of raping a 12-year-old girl in 2014, when he was 19. The athlete spent a total of 13 months in prison, 12 of which were served in the United Kingdom before he was transferred to the Netherlands, where he was resentenced to a shorter term. He was released from prison in 2017.

Heleen Crielaard, the technical director of Dutch volleyball association, said the organization was “aware this could happen” and had made sure “all the documents requested by the Australian authorities” were submitted ahead of time, The Athletic reported on October 27.

“Unfortunately, we have now been informed that the decision has been made not to grant the visa,” she added. “We regret this, but we have no choice but to accept the decision.”

The volleyball player’s teammate Alexander Brouwer will also be unable to compete in the international event.

Van de Velde rose to beach volleyball stardom in 2011, when he won the Under-20 Dutch National Championships. He also represented the Netherlands in the 2015 European Games.

The athlete’s entry into the country was opposed by South Australia’s Attorney-General Kyam Maherd, who wrote in a letter to the Australian government that his crimes were “utterly abhorrent” and that “we do not believe that foreign child sex offenders should be granted entry to this country.”

Australia’s Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke also told the BBC that the country will “continue to use every tool we have available to ensure that Australians can be safe and feel safe in their communities.”

Van de Velde previously represented the Dutch team at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, his inclusion sparking anger among many sports fans.

“I definitely had a quitting-moment, both before the tournament and during it,” van de Velde told the Dutch broadcaster NOS in August 2024 of the fervent backlash. “But I thought: ‘I’m not going to give others the power to bully me away or get me away.”

The volleyball player was booed by some in the crowd during competitive play — a response he said he understood, to a degree.

“Do you want somebody with a history? Can he stand on the podium? That is a legitimate question to ask … [but] I’m not the person I was 10 years ago. I can’t change what people think of me,” he said at the time. “Someone can hold me responsible forever for what happened and that’s OK because that’s what it is. It is their right, so I accept that.”

Van de Velde and his then-teammate Matthew Immers made it to round 16 of the Olympic competition before they were defeated by Brazil.
