LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has instructed his lawyers to compel former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Steve Kayuni for having a hand in untimely death of prophet’s daughter Israella.

Prophet Bushiri hinted that he wants Kayuni to explain “before a competent court which South African officials allegedly directed him to take such an unlawful and inhumane action against an innocent child”.

Writing on his Facebook page, The Man of God said he forgave Kayuni but he is responsible for his actions.

“In 2021, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, my eight-year-old daughter was scheduled to travel from Malawi to Kenya for urgent medical treatment. At that time, most hospitals in Malawi were overwhelmed and unable to provide the specialized care she desperately needed.

“Tragically, upon her arrival at Lilongwe International Airport, an injunction was issued by Mr. Steve Kayuni, who was then the Director of Public Prosecutions, preventing her from leaving the country”, narrates Prophet Bushiri.

The man of God adds, “He claimed to have received directives from officials within the South African Government to act in that manner.

“My daughter, already in a fragile condition, was detained at the airport for five days while my legal team worked tirelessly to overturn the injunction. By the time the court granted permission for her to travel, it was too late, she had lost her life”.

Prophet Bushiri healed but, “We accepted the pain and forgave Mr. Kayuni. However, forgiveness does not remove accountability.

“There are far too many individuals in authority who misuse their positions without consequence. This time, the law must speak”.

Bushiri fired up, “I have therefore instructed my legal team to institute legal proceedings against Mr. Kayuni so that he may explain before a competent court which South African officials allegedly directed him to take such an unlawful and inhumane action against an innocent child.

“Every child has the right to life and access to medical care, as enshrined in the Constitution of Malawi and protected under international human rights law. This case is not only about my daughter, it is about defending every Malawian child from the abuse of power”.

The Man of Charges further, “I am deeply grateful to the many child rights organizations, legal practitioners, and human rights advocates who have come forward in solidarity. Justice delayed took my daughter’s life, but justice denied will not silence her memory”.

Bushiri has just won extradition case against state that wanted him and wife Mary to be in South Africa to answer fraud and sexual assault charges.

The Life of a Showgirl pop star, 35, and the “Nonsense” singer, 26, were spotted grabbing dinner together in New York City on Friday, November 7.

Swift towered over Carpenter in red Gucci women’s horsebit platform slingback pumps while the pair were en route to SoHo restaurant The Corner Store.

The “Fate of Ophelia” singer teamed the heels with a Thom Browne RWB stripe-detail polo shirt and a matching Thom Browne asymmetric wool miniskirt.

Earlier that day, the 2026 Grammy nominations were announced, with Carpenter getting the nod for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Music Video, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance. (Swift was ineligible for nominations due to The Life of a Showgirl dropping outside the eligible period for next year’s Grammys.)

Swift has had a busy social week. As well as grabbing dinner on Friday with Carpenter, Swift was spotted on multiple date nights in the city with her fiance Travis Kelce.

Swift’s outing with Carpenter isn’t the first time Swift has been spotted with A-lister friends at The Corner Store.

In October 2024, Swift was snapped on a double date with Kelce and celebrity couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.

According to its website, the venue has a “smart elegant” dress code. The American restaurant’s menu offers upscale dishes such as lobster and caviar rolls, filet mignon, steak frites and oysters du jour.

 

Swift and Carpenter have been frequent collaborators musically over the past few years, with the Girl Meets World alum even appearing on the title track of Swift’s recently released 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The “Espresso” singer also appeared on stage during several legs, including Australia and South America, of Swift’s mammoth Eras tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024.

In August 2024, Carpenter gushed about her close connection to Swift during an interview with Variety and shared just how impressed she is by Swift’s work ethic.

Boston Blue zeroed in on the distance between Donnie Wahlberg‘s Danny Reagan and his onscreen son, which came after the role was recast.

During the Friday, November 7, episode of the Blue Bloods spinoff, Sean (Mika Amonsen) told his best friend Jonah (Marcus Scribner) that he would love to be closer to his dad, saying, “I only wish I had that kind of relationship with my dad [that you had with yours]. [My dad is the best] when he’s around.”

Sean recalled when his bond with his father shifted.

“Even after my brother Jack went off to college and it was the two of us, he was always working,” he noted. “I never thought he’d leave New York and now he’s here.”

Jonah pointed out that Danny’s move to Boston was “for” Sean, who replied, “But the vibe hasn’t changed. I’m happy he’s here but I figure me becoming a cop — us having that in common — would bring us closer. But we’re not.”

While Sean didn’t bring up his issues to his dad, Danny figured it out by the end of the episode. “I moved here to be closer with you and I’ve done a lousy job. I’m sorry,” Danny said at the end. “What I always do is put my job first. Cops have an excuse to do the job 24/7 because we’re out saving lives and helping people.”

Sean tried to excuse Danny’s absence since it is “what Reagans do” for their job.

“Reagans don’t do it at the expense of family. My old man didn’t do it with me, and I can’t do it with you,” Danny replied. “I have to make time and carve out new traditions and celebrate the old ones.”

He continued: “Which reminds me, we have to find a Catholic church. Grandpa called and chewed me out about [not going] to church.”

The episode ended with Danny and Sean vowing to spend more time together. The story line comes after Blue Bloods fans were reintroduced to Sean, who was previously played by Andrew Terraciano. Before the spinoff premiered, news broke that Sean would be played by Amonsen.

Coshowrunner Brandon Margolis later broke down the decision, telling Variety last month, “We love Andrew and the work he did over the years on Blue Bloods. Really, it came down to we’re telling a new chapter in both of their lives.”

Margolis continued: “It’s not just Sean who has joined the family business as it were and is turning over this new leaf, but it’s also now Danny Reagan is the father [of] a cop, which he’s never been before.”

The screenwriter called the switch “an organic opportunity to bring in a new performance with a new energy, to help dramatize that change.” The writers’ room was looking forward to “new storytelling lanes to explore” with the spinoff series.

“It is the same character, it’s the same relationship, but it’s also completely different,” Margolis added. “We love what Mika has brought to Sean, this vulnerability, yet this desire to prove himself. It’s just been great to watch it come to life.”

In a separate interview with TVLine, Margolis noted that he “loved” watching Terraciano “grow up on TV,” adding, “It creatively made sense to find an actor with a different energy.”

Margolis concluded: “And to your point, yeah, it was a gamble to open the show on a new face — two new faces, actually — but the story required us to love him right away. Opening with that heroic moment that has a tragic end was the right way to pull Danny Reagan into this world.”

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Fleetwood Haiya has issued a bold challenge to his critics, urging them to stop hiding behind what he describes as smear campaigns and instead face him in the ballot during the 2027 FAM elections.

Haiya made the remarks in an interview with the MaraviPost Publication, where he expressed concern over the increasing spread of what he calls “fake news” aimed at damaging his image and creating unnecessary divisions within the football fraternity.

According to Haiya, a specific group of football stakeholders has been relentlessly pushing misinformation with the aim of undermining the progress achieved under his administration.He argued that despite the noise, the results on the ground speak for themselves.

“As far as we are concerned, we are doing the right thing for our football and the results are evidence of this fact,” Haiya said.

“We are not sidelining anybody and these lies are being created by a certain group and we know their end game,”he added.

He went further to warn his detractors against using political tactics to influence football matters, saying that the sport should remain neutral and focused on development rather than personal agendas.

“They should not be hiding behind politics and spreading false news.Let them come out in the open. If they want to contest, or their proxies, let us meet in 2027,”he explained.

Haiya’s remarks come at a time when debates over football leadership and administrative transparency have intensified, especially following the recent success of the Malawi women’s national football team, the Scorchers.

The FAM president has also dismissed claims that he is sidelining National Women’s Football Association (NWFA) President Adelaide Migogo, describing the allegations as baseless and misleading.

The accusations were fueled by a voice note released on social media by Isaac Jomo Osman, owner of Kukoma Ntopwa Women FC, who alleged that Haiya had stolen the spotlight from Migogo after the Scorchers qualified for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

Haiya, however, insisted that his administration fully respects the structures of women’s football and that no individual efforts were being overshadowed.

He said the Scorchers’ success belongs to the nation and not to any single person.

He also urged football stakeholders to focus on sustaining the momentum behind women’s football rather than promoting divisions that could derail progress.

Krysten Ritter is known for playing powerful women — and is grateful for how her past roles have often “saved the day” in her real-life experiences.

“Playing Jessica Jones, I realized how much strength playing that character gave me and how much protection she has brought me, because she is somebody who is so weighted and so heavy with all of her traumas layered on top and just, like, resentment for her powers and the way she informs how she moves to the world,” Ritter, 43, exclusively old Us Weekly while promoting her new film, Stone Cold Fox. “She’s so tough and she’s so strong, and having the superpowers, having that strength, protects me from all of the trauma that she’s been through. And then all of those layers that you have to build for yourself, Krysten has to play and bring home.”

Ritter explained that Jones’ “strength” ultimately helped protect her from getting “too dark or lost” in her story, which sees Jones battle post-traumatic stress disorder as she attempts to run her own detective agency. Ritter was initially cast as the title character for the 2015 Jessica Jones Netflix series, which ran for four years. She’ll reprise the role for season 2 of Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again, set to premiere in March 2026.

Tapping into Jessica’s powers — super and mental — has also allowed Ritter to also find strength in her own life, not just on screen. She explained that she’s often channeled the character in her more difficult moments.

“There have been times where I’ve had to, like, find her in my body,” she told Us. “Like, she’s come in and saved the day quite a bit. She kind of reminds me of how strong you can be, even if you lose your way up for a minute.”

Embracing her characters’ attributes doesn’t end with Jessica Jones. Ritter is “surgical” with how she chooses her projects, often opting for strong, morally gray women. That was the case with Ritter’s latest movie, Stone Cold Fox, the neo-noir action thriller that features Ritter as an abusive drug dealer named Goldie opposite Kiernan Shipka.

Ritter said she was drawn to how “unpredictable and crazy” the character was, something she finds “so fun” and “delicious” to play. She noted that crime boss–type roles “don’t always come around” for women, so she jumped at the chance to step into Goldie’s shoes.

“I haven’t seen a role like that, so I was just like, ‘Are you kidding? Yes, check, check, check,’” she said. “And I was looking to do something stylized and over the top, because it’s fun. Anything where you have an opportunity to take a big swing, that’s my MO.”

Ritter was fascinated by how Goldie’s status as a “loner” shaped her life decisions, telling Us, “She’s probably informed by her trauma,” she explained. “She didn’t just become this evil psychopath for no reason. She’s a result of her circumstances, like we all are, but she had an extenuating set of circumstances. And the way that she took control of her life — is it totally insane? Yes, totally insane. But I just love that about her.”

Ritter said she was already “in” by the time her agent called her with the movie’s title, but reading the script sealed the deal even further, as did watching director Sophie Tabet’s first short film, The Lonely Whale.

“I love a first time female director who’s, like, going for it,” Ritter added. “She’s obviously a big Quentin Tarantino fan and Grindhouse fan, and that’s all here [in this movie]. I just wanted to support her.”

Costar Shipka was another woman Ritter was excited to center as a self-admitted big fan of the Chilling Adventure of Sabrina star’s work. Shipka, 25, plays Ritter’s love interest and title character Fox in the film, a young drug addict who breaks away from Goldie’s abusive commune in search of her missing sister.

“She’s so amazing, she’s so incredible, she’s so good,” Ritter gushed. “I always joke that I’m her forever hype woman. We kind of mutually gush over each other, and I think that we just adore each other, to be honest. I’m always like, ‘I’ll be your biggest fan. I’m rooting for you.’ We [just] had our premiere, and I was like, ‘You’re so good in this movie. You look so great, you’re so good at acting, I just love you.’ She’s so cute and so fabulous and such a hard worker.”

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Alex Vesia has established himself as a critical piece to his team’s bullpen, and his wife, Kayla Vesia, has been by his side the entire way.

In October 2025, however, Alex was forced to step away from the team on the eve of the 2025 World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays as he and Kayla — who announced her pregnancy with baby No. 1 in April 2025 — address a “family matter,” the Dodgers announced.
