The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Abuja Chapter, celebrated its 40th anniversary with a special award service held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (City of David) Auditorium in Utako, Abuja.

The event, themed around reflection, renewal, and honour, featured a welcome address by the 10th chairman of PFN-FCT, Apostle Israel W. Abam, who expressed gratitude to God for the fellowship’s four-decade journey and the grace that has sustained it.

Apostle Abam noted that the milestone provided an opportunity to acknowledge the founding fathers’ role in fostering a spiritual revival that allowed the Holy Spirit to take root in Nigeria, shaping the nation’s gospel culture.

He urged members to reflect on PFN’s impact in redefining Nigeria’s moral and cultural values, lamenting the erosion of these standards and the resulting spread of corruption.

Calling for the rekindling of the ‘Pentecostal Fire’ that once defined the church with genuine miracles, signs, and wonders, Abam appealed for a return to authenticity in ministry and the avoidance of manipulative practices.

The chairman also unveiled the William Okoye House Project – a new administrative, spiritual, and leadership hub for PFN in the FCT.

Named after the fellowship’s first FCT chairman and one of its founding fathers, the project aims to preserve PFN’s legacy and heritage.

He also paid tribute to the late Papa Uma Ukpai, describing his passing as an irreplaceable loss to the Christian community.

Abam reaffirmed PFN’s commitment to peace and encouraged members to stand against injustice peacefully and responsibly.

The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of awards to distinguished members and leaders for their outstanding service to the fellowship, God, and humanity.

Apostle Abam concluded the event with prayers for God’s continued favor upon attendees and their safe return home.

The 40th-anniversary celebration reaffirmed PFN’s dedication to its founding principles and spiritual mission as it charts the path forward.

Actress Eve Esin has tied the knot with Ghanaian partner in a beautiful ceremony over the weekend in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

A video from the event surfaced online just days after Eve announced her upcoming marriage through a series of pre-wedding photos shared on her Instagram page.

In one of the pictures, the actress affectionately captioned it, ‘My Ghana Jollof y’all.’

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has felicitated former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, on his 91st birthday.

Akpabio in a congratulatory message in Abuja on Monday said Gowon’s policy of ‘No Victor, No Vanquished’ after the civil war remained a beacon of unity and national healing.

He commended Gowon’s efforts in keeping Nigeria one, in and out of power, stressing that history would be kind to him.

Akpabio added that ‘on behalf of my family, constituents, the Senate and the 10th National Assembly, I wish to heartily rejoice with our former Head of State, His Excellency, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, on occasion of his 91st birthday, it is a thing of joy to see him reach this milestone in life.

‘Sir, your leadership during and after Nigeria’s civil war continues to shape our history, and your ‘No Victor, No Vanquished’ policy remains a beacon of unity and national healing.

A political support group under the aegis of the Kogi Alliance for Renewed Hope (KARH) has faulted comments by Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, representing Kogi West, over his remarks on the recent endorsement rally for President Bola Tinubu in Lokoja.

In a statement issued on Monday and signed by its President, Toba Ogundele, and Secretary, Idris Abubakar, the group described Karimi’s comments as ‘disrespectful, misleading, and out of touch with the realities in Kogi State.’

KARH maintained that the people of Kogi remain firmly committed to supporting President Tinubu in 2027.

It dismissed Karimi’s claim that the people were being ‘bullied’ into supporting the President, saying the rally was a spontaneous and genuine show of goodwill from Kogites who are pleased with Tinubu’s leadership and developmental achievements across the country.

‘The people of Kogi State do not need to be coerced to support President Tinubu – they are already convinced by his actions and performance. From infrastructural projects to appointments of deserving Kogi indigenes, Mr President has demonstrated inclusion, fairness, and capacity that speak louder than any campaign slogan,’ the statement reads.

They said the endorsement rally in Lokoja, attended by grassroots party members and community leaders, was a show of unity and gratitude rather than political manipulation.

‘It is disappointing that a senator who benefited from the goodwill of the same people will dismiss their enthusiasm as coercion. President Tinubu’s policies have increased federal allocations, improved rural infrastructure, and created opportunities for small businesses in Kogi and beyond. These are tangible benefits, not empty promises,’ the statement said.

The group noted that the people of Kogi understand what leadership means and will not be swayed by those attempting to score cheap political points ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‘Senator Karimi’s attempt to discredit a peaceful, democratic endorsement only exposes his detachment from the grassroots. From Lokoja to Okene, Kabba to Ankpa, the message is clear: Kogi stands solidly behind Presidentt Tinubu because they have seen the difference between rhetoric and results,’ they said.

The forum urged political leaders from the state to put aside personal grievances and work in harmony to ensure that Kogi remains a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

‘President Tinubu has shown unprecedented commitment to developing Kogi through infrastructural renewal and youth empowerment. The people of this state will willingly and proudly vote for him again in 2027 because his record speaks for itself,’ the statement added.

Ghanaian musician Ladsmid Nathaniel Owusu popularly known as Lasmid has claimed that many Nigerian Afrobeats songs gained popularity in Ghana before being widely accepted in Nigeria.

The 26-year-old said this in an interview with Hip TV, citing the example of Spyro’s song ‘Who’s Your Guy,’ which he claims was a huge hit in Ghana before gaining traction in Nigeria.

‘We love Nigerians so much, even more than ourselves. If a Nigerian drops a song, it will first blow in Ghana before it blows in Nigeria. Most Nigerian songs blew in Ghana before blowing back home.

‘The song ‘Who’s Your Guy’ by Spyro blew in Ghana before Nigeria. The song was very big in Ghana before Nigerians caught the wave. The love Ghana has for Nigeria has always been there,’ he expressed.

He attributed this phenomenon to the strong affection Ghanaians have for Nigerian artists, often embracing their music more enthusiastically than their own local talents.

Opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended its National Vice Chairman (South-South), Dr. Usani Usani, with immediate effect, over alleged violation of party’s constitution and engaging in activities deemed detrimental to the unity and progress of the party.

The decision to this effect was reached at a meeting of the Cross River State Working Committee (SWC) of the party in Calabar last week.

The SWC also called for the replacement of the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ms. Jackie Wayas as Deputy National Publicity Secretary, for lack of consultation with the state leadership before she was appointed

A statement by the ADC Cross River Publicity Secretary, Hon. James Otudor, in Abuja on Monday, faulted Usani’s recent conducts, which he alleged were inconsistent with the provisions of the party’s Constitution.

The statement noted the SWC deliberated on several petitions and reports that accused Usani of anti-party activities, insubordination to constituted authority, and other acts capable of undermining the image, cohesion, and electoral prospects of the ADC ahead of 2027 general elections.

The statement reads: ‘In accordance with the party’s constitution and disciplinary procedures, Dr. Usani’s suspension will remain in effect pending the outcome of a formal investigation by the relevant party organs.’

The committee also raised issues regarding the appointment of Ms. Jackie Wayas as Deputy National Publicity Secretary, expressing dissatisfaction over what it described as a lack of consultation with the state leadership prior to her appointment.

It observed that Ms. Wayas has not engaged with the Cross River State leadership since assuming the role and alleged that her current disposition and loyalty appear to be skewed against the unity and growth of the ADC in the state.

‘Consequently, the SWC urged the National Leadership to review her appointment and replace her with a competent, credible, and media-savvy individual from Cross River State with a verifiable record of commitment to the ideals of the ADC.

‘In addition, the Cross River ADC expressed concern over certain individuals under the Coalition Movement who publicly declared their intention to join the ADC but have yet to formalize their membership months after doing so.

‘While acknowledging that party registration is a continuous process, the committee warned that the ADC will not tolerate dual membership or allow its platform to be used by individuals pursuing multiple partisan interests.

‘It further noted that some coalition members who participated in ADC strategy meetings have since accepted caretaker or leadership positions in their former political parties.’

The statement directed all coalition leaders and intending members to complete their registration at their respective ward levels within seven days, ending Saturday, October 25, 2025, or risk exclusion from leadership and decision-making processes within the party.

Reaffirming its loyalty to the National Leadership, the ADC Cross River chapter assured members and supporters of its commitment to providing credible leadership and a people-centered alternative political direction for the state and the South-South region

‘We urge all members to remain calm, law-abiding, and steadfast as the party’s internal mechanisms for discipline, justice, and accountability take their full course,’ the statement maintained.

Renowned South African DJ and Grammy-winning producer, Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo popularly known as Black Coffee, has declared that he will never remarry.

He stated this on a recent episode of Podcast and Chill, revealing that he’s finally at peace with himself and won’t let societal expectations dictate his life.

According to him, his decision stems from the pressure he faced from parents and society after achieving success.

He explained how they urged him to settle down, but he refused, stating he’s now prioritising his personal growth and artistic journey.

He said: ‘I won’t get married again. I’m clear about that because I am now in a better space in understanding who I am. I also understand the kind of pressure society puts you in without ever backing you up,’ he said.

‘With my career, especially because it wasn’t so obvious, meaning I wasn’t going to get a degree and become a lawyer. It was very unclear, but as soon as it popped, everyone was wowed. I bought my first house and car, and they [my parents] were like, ‘When are you getting a wife?”

Ex-BBNaija housemate Tuoyo has criticised Rita Daniels, mother of actress Regina Daniels, for allowing her daughter to marry at a young age.

In a post on his Instagram story, Tuoyo expressed concerns about modern parenting, stating that parents today are failing to properly guide their children.

Using Regina Daniels’ early marriage as an example, Tuoyo described it as a failure in parental responsibility.

Afrobeats singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka popularly known as Ruger has disclosed that his constant touring has negatively impacted his love life.

In a social media post, he stated that his romantic relationships have suffered due to his hectic schedule and increased attention from fans.

The singer expressed a desire to settle down soon, citing the challenges of maintaining relationships while on the road.

‘Being on the road has really affected my love life. It became worse after i went back to my black hair and low cut coz these girls have been over rushing me. But deep down, I really wanna settle down soon,’ he wrote.

He added that touring has also strained his family relationships, admitting he rarely sees his loved ones.

Ruger also claimed to be the most booked Nigerian artist globally, with fans worldwide seeking his performances.

Troops of 6 Division, Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies have arrested 28 suspected oil thieves, dismantled four illegal refineries and seized over 290,000 litres of stolen products in the Niger Delta.

The acting Deputy Director, 6 Division Army Public Relations, Lt. Col. Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, confirmed the development in a statement he released in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Danjuma said at Okrika in Okrika Local Government Area, the operatives intercepted two wooden boats which were loading Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from a vessel offloading the product at a jetty.

He said two boats were also intercepted at Okrika, with one loaded with over 33,000 litres of stolen products at a jetty in Okrika, adding that another wooden boat loaded with over 5,000 litres of stolen products was also found in the area.

Danjuma noted that following a tip-off on illegal oil bunkering activities around a pipeline after Sterling Global Company Road, Akpabo, at Elele Alimini in Emohua LGA, the troops stormed the area and impounded a tanker with registration number Rivers JJN 287 ZU coming out of the pipeline right of way.

He said the vehicle was suspected to have loaded about 90,000 litres of stolen products from the site and confirmed that two suspects, the driver and his motor boy, were taken into custody.

He further explained that at Okolomade in Abua/Odual LGA, over 2,600 litres of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) were recovered by the troops.

Danjuma said along Imo River, the troops deactivated two illegal refining sites and seized three drum pots, three receivers, and over 2,500 litres of stolen crude around Obuzor, Asa Asa in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State.

He noted that at Orashi River waterside, two wooden boats were intercepted with over 700 litres of Dual Purpose Kerosene recovered adding that six suspects were arrested in connection with the seizures.

In Delta State, the troops, who were said to have acted on credible intelligence on the activities of oil thieves along the PAN Ocean Pipeline right of way in Ethiope East LGA, closed in on criminals, who on sighting them fled the area.

‘However, one suspect was arrested and various items recovered. These included vandalized pipes, hoses, a large quantity of Bagco sacks, and leather materials. Others included one Peugeot 406 car, a Camry car, one Toyota Jeep, as well as a lorry van loaded with over 1,650 litres of stolen products’, the statement said.

He added that the troops on pipeline surveillance along the Midwestern Oil and Gas Pipeline Rright of way at Umusan-Obodogwa in Ndokwa West LGA intercepted a Mercedes-Benz truck with registration number Enugu VE 174 ENU conveying 24 pieces of 14-inch pipes and three gas cylinders.

While saying that two persons were arrested, Danjuma explained that the pipes were suspected to have been vandalized from the SEPCO Oil and Gas pipeline at Kwale.

He said that around Eruemukohwarien in Ughelli North LGA, a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number Delta PTN 926 XA was intercepted for conveying 10 drums filled with 2,500 litres of condensates, adding that the driver was arrested.

Danjuma said in Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom states, the troops scaled up both kinetic and non-kinetic operations, effectively dominating the operational landscape and denying criminal elements the freedom of action.

He quoted the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen..Emmanuel Eric Emekah, as commending the troops for their exploits.

The GOC further charged them to sustain the operational tempo in clamping down on economic saboteurs and other associated crimes in the Niger Delta Region.
