LEGAZPI CITY — Face-to-face classes in Albay province were ordered suspended on Monday, November 25, due to expected heavy rains from a shearline and a low-pressure area forecast to develop into a tropical depression within 24 hours.

In an advisory on Sunday, Albay Governor Noel Rosal urged public and private schools to shift to alternative learning modalities.

He also advised the public to avoid fishing and crossing swollen rivers.

Local officials were told to prepare residents for possible evacuation, particularly those in flood- and landslide-prone or other high-risk areas.

In Sorsogon City, the local government encouraged village officials to declog and clean waterways in their areas to minimize flooding. /mcm
