The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has conducted a command-staff exercise on the topic “Organization of Management by the Ministry’s Apparatus and Structural Units During the Elimination of the Consequences of Emergencies”, Azernews reports.

The main goal of the exercise was to assess the practical capabilities of forces and resources stationed in cities and districts in the event of large-scale emergencies, evaluate their readiness, improve the management system, enhance the interaction of command posts, and develop the leadership’s ability to make quick decisions.

The command-staff exercise was held at 14 simulated emergency sites, involving the Ministry’s forces and resources. In line with the exercise plan, the overall situation and operational conditions were first explained, and the relevant tasks were assigned.

Based on the operational scenario, 22 interventions were presented to the command posts. The command posts of the agencies were coordinated by the exercise leadership from the control room in crisis situations.

Through monitoring by control cameras installed in the cities and districts, rescue operations at the simulated emergency sites and the deployment of reinforcement resources were observed. The situation at the units and on-site was assessed, and the sequential activities of the units were ensured.

During the exercise, the leadership practiced receiving, clarifying, and making decisions on emergency rescue and other urgent tasks. Intensive information exchange was conducted between command posts, data was summarized, and reports from agency heads were heard.

The two-day command-staff exercise successfully achieved the objectives set.

Consular consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Poland were held in Warsaw on 28 November.

According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department, while the Polish delegation was led by Justyna Chrzanovska, Director of the Department of Consular Affairs at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The consultations reviewed the current state of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland in the field of consular services and discussed prospects for future development. The sides also examined the possibility of signing new bilateral documents and advancing the digitalisation of consular procedures.

During the meeting, both delegations exchanged views on expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the areas of justice, internal affairs, prosecution, migration, and consular affairs.

Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov has held a meeting with Jordan’s Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yarub Alqudah, who is also the co-chair of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation between the two countries, Azernews reports.

During the meeting, it was underlined that Azerbaijan-Jordan relations are steadily advancing on the basis of friendship and cooperation.

It was also highlighted that the close personal relationship between President Ilham Aliyev and King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein plays a significant role in enhancing bilateral ties.

The parties exchanged views on opportunities to further broaden mutually beneficial collaboration across multiple sectors, including trade, the economy, investment, humanitarian efforts, and other areas.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance, Sahil Babayev, also participated in the meeting.

Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has held a plenary session, Azernews reports.

During the meeting, the President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Academician Isa Habibbayli said that the decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on November 5, 2025, titled “On the Awarding of Individuals Who Have Contributed to the Development of Science in Azerbaijan,” is one of the significant events in the 80-year honorable history of the Academy.

“President Ilham Aliyev’s participation in the 80th anniversary meeting of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and his programmatic, in-depth speech serve as a roadmap for the Academy’s future activities.

The President’s remarks on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies, which are among the main challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, will form the foundation for our future endeavors,” he said.

The ANAS President also noted that, following the President’s directives on preserving the purity of the Azerbaijani language and rewriting the history of Azerbaijan and its statehood, meetings were immediately organized within the Presidium with linguists and historians.

Proposals were put forward, tasks were assigned to the Academy’s scientific institutions and organizations, and scholars have published articles in the media. A unified Action Plan of ANAS will be adopted in the coming days.

Later, awards were presented to those recognized by President Ilham Aliyev’s decree on November 5, 2025, for their contributions to the development of Azerbaijani science.

The awardees expressed their gratitude to the Head of State for the high attention and value given to Azerbaijani science and scholars, and pledged to continue working tirelessly to fulfill the tasks set before them.

During the session, the Action Plan of ANAS for the implementation of the Presidential Decree on the “Centenary of the First Turkological Congress” was also approved.

It was also decided to hold an international scientific conference titled “The Mathematical Harmony of Millennia: A Global Dialogue,” dedicated to the 1800th anniversary of the world-renowned Chinese scholar Liu Hui.

Musa Gasimli, Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, and Goydeniz Gahramanov, Head of Azerbaijan-Thailand Working Group on Inter-Parliamentary Relations have met with Issara Sereewatthanawut, Secretary-General of King Prajadhipok’s Institute under the Thailand Parliament, Azernews reports.

Deputy Speaker Musa Gasimli spoke about the current state of relations between the two countries, emphasizing the important role of high-level visits in developing these ties.

It was noted that Azerbaijan and Thailand cooperate effectively within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations. At the same time, the parliaments of the two countries work efficiently both in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Musa Gasimli also provided information on the current situation in the region, noting that the resolution of the long-standing conflict has created new realities in the area. He spoke about the investment climate created in Azerbaijan and emphasized that Thailand’s utilization of these opportunities would serve mutual interests.

The Deputy Speaker shared his views on developing relations between the two states and peoples in various fields, including the implementation of joint projects in business and investment.

Issara Sereewatthanawut highlighted the potential for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Thailand and stressed the importance of intensifying contacts in various fields.

The discussion covered opportunities to expand economic ties, increase trade turnover, and advance initiatives in tourism, education, innovation, industry, and other areas.

The parties also exchanged views on the development of interparliamentary relations, mutual experience sharing, and other areas of cooperation.

Azerbaijan and Thailand have been working to enhance their diplomatic and economic relations through high-level meetings.

Key areas of focus included expanding parliamentary diplomacy, fostering collaboration between think tanks, and boosting economic cooperation in sectors such as trade, tourism, and innovation.

Thailand is a major exporter of food, fruits, and seafood, while Azerbaijan primarily supplies oil and gas.

Tourism is viewed as a potential avenue to strengthen ties further and create new opportunities for trade and investment, with discussions also expected on a possible air service agreement to facilitate travel between the two countries.

Azerbaijan Technological University (ATU) has conducted third regional intellectual competition “Our Victory is Eternal” within Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty, Azernews reports.

Students from Ganja State University emerged as the winners of the competition.

Knowledge contest involved teams from higher education and vocational institutions across the countr

The questions primarily focused on the activities of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the history of the Victory, and general worldviews.

The competition aimed to enhance the intellectual development of young people and expand their knowledge of Azerbaijan’s history, as well as national and spiritual values.

The second place was awarded to Azerbaijan Technological University, while third place went to students from the Zagatala branch of Azerbaijan State University of Economics.

At the conclusion of the event, the Ganja State University’s team was presented with a trophy and a certificate of honor.

The Emergency Situations Ministry’s “112” hotline received information about an explosion in a multi-story residential building located on Mirjalal Street, Nasimi District, Baku, Azernews reports.

The Ministry’s State Fire Protection Service immediately deployed forces to the scene.

Upon evaluating the operational situation at the site, it was determined that the explosion, which was accompanied by a fireless blast, occurred in an apartment on the 4th floor of the five-story building.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the explosion was caused by a gas leak.

The impact of the blast caused the kitchen window of the 40 square meter, one-room apartment to be blown out of its frame, and the ceiling’s aluminum cladding to be damaged. As a result of the incident, one person sustained injuries.

The Emergency Situations Ministry’s forces have implemented the necessary safety measures at the scene. Relevant authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.

A delegation from the Azerbaijan State Tax Service has conduced official meetings at the Sweden Tax Agency during their visit to the country, Azernews reports.

The main objectives of the visit were to exchange experience, study advanced international approaches in tax administration, analyze digital transformation processes, explore opportunities for implementing artificial intelligence technologies, and conduct comparative evaluations of debt management and risk-based tax control models.

During the visit, the Azerbaijan State Tax Service delegation participated in presentations and discussions on AI-based service models and excise tax control mechanisms.

They also explored the functional features of a digitized tax declaration ecosystem and strategies for human resource development. In addition, the delegation engaged in exchanges on the expanded application of international data sharing and the use of big data in risk audits. Discussions further covered strengthening tax discipline and enhancing the efficiency of modern control tools.

The parties emphasized the importance of further expanding cooperation in tax administration, as well as continuing joint training and experience programs, and reviewed potential collaborative initiatives in this field.

Officials from the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy, the country’s Permanent Mission to the FAO, and its Cultural Center in Rome have participated in the 56th International Festival Charity Bazaar organized by the UN Women’s Guild (UNWG) at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Azernews reports.

The Azerbaijani booth highlighted the nation’s cuisine, traditional handicrafts, and souvenirs.

Opening remarks were delivered by FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu and UN Women’s Guild President Rose Mary Vargas, who emphasized the escalating global hunger crisis and the need for coordinated international efforts to tackle it.

The charity event is designed to support children and women in need across the world. Participating countries showcased cultural programs and offered national products for sale.

In addition to Azerbaijan, this year’s event featured the embassies of Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Oman, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Senegal, Thailand, and Peru.

All funds raised from the bazaar will go toward helping children in need.

Kickboxing Championship for Cadets, Juniors, and Youth has taken place in Nakhchivan city, Azernews reports. The championship was timed to the Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty in Azerbaijan.

Nearly 120 athletes from 7 clubs competed for a total of 16 sets of medals. The athletes competed in their respective age categories and weight divisions using the Olympic system.

Based on the results, the following athletes won gold medals: Mahir Jafarov (25 kg), Mahammad Talibov (28 kg), Hasan Guluzad? (32 kg), Nasir Aliyev (37 kg), Orkhan Khalilli (42 kg) in the cadet category; Ugur Mammadli (37 kg), Ulvi Aliyev (42 kg), Alamdar Najafov (45 kg), Hidayat Mammadzade (47 kg), Aykhan Khalilli (52 kg), Amin Najafli (55 kg), Kamil Dadashov (60 kg) in the junior category; and Tayfur Aliyev (50 kg), Tunar Nasirli (55 kg), Sinan Kazimov (60 kg), and Ziya Mammadzade (65 kg) in the youth category.

The top three winners in each category were awarded diplomas, medals, and gifts.

In 1926, the boxing championship was held for the first time in Azerbaijan, where national boxers took first place.

Since 1992, the Azerbaijani Boxing Federation has become a full member of the International Boxing Association (AIBA).

Azerbaijani boxers have won many prestigious awards at many international championships.

Aghasi Mammadov has entered Azerbaijan’s history of boxing as the first national boxer, as a gold medallist at the world championship.

Another Azerbaijani boxer, Fuad Asadov, was among the medallists at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games.

Many times, Azerbaijan has been chosen as the host country for major boxing championships.

The AIBA Youth World Championships were held in Baku in 2019. This world championship was the first licensed youth tournament to qualify for the 2010 Olympic Games held in Singapore.

The country also hosted the 2011 AIBA World Boxing Championships, which was the first major qualifying event for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
