As part of the “Fly to Baku. Art Weekend. Sense the Future NOW” project, a solo exhibition by Azerbaijani artist Vusala Agharaziyeva, titled “In Dew. The Morning That Never Was” has opened at the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, Azernews reports.

The project was organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the IDEA Public Union with the support of the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry.

Through the exhibition “In Dew. The Morning That Never Was” Vusala Agharaziyeva transforms the Palace of the Shirvanshahs into a space of thought situated on the delicate threshold between night and dawn, where darkness gradually gives way to light.

Speaking with AZERTAC, the artist said that the exhibition’s concept is inspired by Eastern philosophy, symbolizing the fleeting moment between the visible and invisible, between sleep and awakening.

She emphasized that “seh” (in dew) emerges in the space “between” night and morning, dreams and reality. It is precisely this transitory, ephemeral state that inspired her to create the exhibition.

“I wanted to convey the delicate yet vivid emotions of these moments. After all, seh appears just as the night nearly ends and the morning has not fully arrived. To witness it, one must awaken-both physically and spiritually-at the right time,” V. Agharaziyeva noted.

From October 31 to November 2, Baku will host the grand Arts Festival “Fly to Baku. Art Weekend. Sense the Future NOW”, bringing together art, culture, and ecology. The project is organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the IDEA Public Union in partnership with the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry. This immersive project will transform Baku into a living space of contemporary creativity, dialogue, and discovery. Special attention will be given to the ecological situation in oceans and seas, presented through the language of art.

The main theme of the festival is water as a symbol of life, renewal, and sustainable development. Water, representing resilience, renewal, and collective memory, has been chosen as the key element of the Art Weekend, fostering a meaningful dialogue between Azerbaijan and the international art community.

Zaman Art Gallery has officially opened its doors for a group exhibition “I Am Water”, running from October 31 to November 16, as part of the international art festival “Fly to Baku. Art Weekend. Sense the Future NOW”. The exhibition brings together over 20 Azerbaijani artists whose works explore the elemental and emotional dimensions of water.

The unique art project aims to evoke in the viewer not only the aesthetic perception of water but also a sense of belonging to its essence – to let one feel that within each of us flows our own river, carrying memory, pain, light, and hope.

Art manager Gulnara Khalilova shared with AZERNEWS, the main essence of the exhibition.

“Water is not just a subject-it’s a metaphor for our inner worlds. This exhibition invites viewers to dissolve boundaries and connect with the fluidity of memory, emotion, and transformation. Each artwork is a ripple in a collective stream of consciousness,” she said.

“The exhibition showcases art pieces by incredibly talented artists, including Tahir Shikhaliyev, Aylin Mammadli, Diana Aliyeva, Mahammad Orujov, Eldar Babazade, Sayali Mammadova, Orkhan Garayev, Inna Kostina, Afaq Akbarova, Adil Shikhaliyev, Mir Azer Abdullayev, Gunel Ravilova, Aynura Mahmudova, Gulnara Khalilova, Nigar Familsoy, Vugar Ali, Fazila Rajabova, Javid Mammadov, Soltan Soltanli, Vusala Agharaziyeva, Rafail Aliyev, Sarkhan Hajiyev, Fidan Zaman and Novruz Balabayov,” she added.

At the heart of “I Am Water” lies a poetic meditation on water as both a physical and metaphysical force:

“I am water. I am the beginning of all things. I am the beginning of you. Within you lies my memory; in your cells, my pathways run. I have no form, yet I take every form. I have no constancy, yet I am eternal.”

This lyrical manifesto sets the tone for an immersive experience where viewers are invited to reflect on water’s role as a mirror, a healer, and a silent witness to human emotion. The exhibition encourages a sense of unity with nature and self, reminding us that to flow is to live.

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum has opened an exhibition titled “Art and Weapon: Traditional Azerbaijani Weapons Through the Eyes of Artists”, Azernews reports.

The exhibition, dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, was organized jointly by the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.

The event was opened by the museum’s director, Amina Malikova, who stated that this exhibition would present the historical, technological, and artistic development of traditional Azerbaijani weapons through the creativity of contemporary artists.

The exhibition features about 30 works of art created by 26 painters and sculptors. As the first large-scale project prepared with a principle of a comprehensive approach to the topic, the presented works reflect a synthesis of academic and postmodernist approaches, as well as influences from the classical miniature heritage.

The exhibition’s curators, Sevil Karimova, Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts and PhD in Art Studies, and Sabuhi Ahmadov, PhD in History and author of the catalog “Steel Patterns: The Weapon Collection of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum,” spoke about the significance of the exhibition.

It was emphasized that the exhibition and the first catalog dedicated to the museum’s weapon collection hold special importance for presenting Azerbaijani arms heritage, national craftsmanship traditions, and the history of statehood in an artistic context, as well as for promoting national-cultural identity.

At the opening ceremony, students from the SABAH Center of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts presented a dramatic-choreographic composition titled “The Weapon of Justice Triumphs Over Evil Forces.”

Afterwards, participants of the event had the opportunity to closely view the exhibition.

The exposition also features rare weapon samples from the personal collections of collectors Yusif Bagirzad? and Ilqar H?s?n?lizad?, dating from the 16th-19th centuries.

Among these exhibits are weapons that belonged to Prince Abbas Mirza Qajar, Nasreddin Shah Qajar, one of the governors of the Safavid state, and the Khan of Shaki. Additionally, replicas of weapons traditionally made, including those of Sultan Uzun H?s?n and Shah Ismail Khatai, as well as Zulfiqar swords and shashkas, are on display.

On October 30, a delegation from the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ), led by Executive Director Israfil Mammadov, paid a working visit to Abu Dhabi to hold a series of meetings with leading investment institutions of the United Arab Emirates, Azernews reports, citing the SOFAZ.

According to information, the main purpose of the meetings was to expand international partnerships, explore opportunities for cooperation in mutually beneficial investment areas, and discuss prospects for future joint initiatives.

During the visit, Israfil Mammadov met with Ahmad Al Jalili, Chief Sustainability and Risk Officer of Mubadala Investment Company. The sides discussed enhancing collaboration in the field of sustainable investments, promoting the exchange of expertise and knowledge, and identifying opportunities for potential joint projects.

In a separate meeting with Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Managing Partner at Lunate, discussions focused on investment portfolio management practices, approaches to investing in alternative assets, and long-term partnership prospects.

The meetings were viewed as an important step toward strengthening the relationship between SOFAZ and the UAE’s leading investment organizations, fostering mutual trust, and defining future areas of cooperation.

France has unveiled the world’s first motorway capable of wirelessly charging vehicles while they are in motion. This innovative system supports simultaneous charging for passenger cars, vans, buses, and even medium and heavy-duty trucks, Azernews reports.

Developed in collaboration with Electreon, VINCI Construction, Gustave Eiffel University, and Hutchinson, VINCI Autoroutes implemented and tested an active 1.5-kilometer section of the A10 motorway near Paris. On this stretch, electric trucks, buses, vans, and cars can now be charged on the go – no stops, no plugs required.

Extensive tests examined the system’s mechanical, thermal, and power transmission performance. Results confirmed an average transmission power exceeding 200 kW, with peaks surpassing 300 kW – more than double the energy needed to drive a truck along this distance. These trials demonstrated the system’s safety, durability, and reliability under real traffic conditions and at standard highway speeds.

The technology works by transmitting energy from coils embedded beneath the asphalt to receiving units installed on the vehicles, providing a stable, continuous power supply during movement. Remarkably, this system could potentially reduce the need for large batteries in electric trucks, making long-distance electric transportation more practical and sustainable.

In addition, researchers are exploring the possibility of integrating smart energy management, allowing vehicles to dynamically adjust charging rates based on traffic, speed, and battery levels – a glimpse into a future where highways themselves help power the electric mobility revolution.

A delegation of foreign diplomats is visiting Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil and Zangilan regions, retracing the steps of President Ilham Aliyev, Azernews reports.

The Baku Military Court continued its proceedings on October 31 in the criminal case against citizens of the Republic of Armenia accused of committing war crimes and other grave offenses, Azernews reports.

According to Azernews, the session involved the announcement of documents and several procedural motions. The lawyer of the accused Levon Mnatsakanyan, Ogtay Madatov, requested a meeting with his client during the break, which the judge approved.

Another defendant, David Manukyan, filed a motion to separate the charge of creating an organized criminal group from his case. His lawyer, Valeh Gurbanov, supported the motion; however, the public prosecutor, Fuad Musayev, noted that it was not appropriate for the current stage of the trial. Following deliberation, the court rejected the motion as unfounded.

Later, Madat Babayan’s lawyer, Leyla Namazzadeh, filed a motion to exclude certain episodes from the charges against her client, which Babayan supported. Public Prosecutor Tarana Mammadova opposed the request, and the court stated that the motion would be reviewed in deliberation.

The trial concerns Armenian citizens accused of crimes against peace and humanity, including war crimes, terrorism, financing terrorism, genocide, and other offenses stemming from Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan. The hearings are ongoing

Agricultural development continues to stand at the forefront of strategic priorities for both Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, Azernews reports.

According to the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Deputy Minister Lozana Vasileva made the remarks during the 7th meeting of the Bulgaria-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation held in Sofia.

Vasileva emphasized that agriculture is not only a traditional but also a promising sector, noting that both countries can achieve tangible results through the exchange of knowledge, technologies, and best practices.

‘We can combine our efforts in several areas, including agricultural science and technology, aquaculture, sustainable fisheries management, and the development of fish product trade,’ she stated.

The deputy minister also underlined the importance of active participation by Bulgarian and Azerbaijani companies in international exhibitions and fairs hosted in both countries.

‘An important element of our bilateral relations is the deepening of cooperation between the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency and the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency. This partnership envisions exchanges of expertise in food safety, plant and animal health, as well as coordination of imports and exports of goods under veterinary and phytosanitary control,’ Vasileva said.

She concluded by expressing confidence that such forums will give new impetus to economic and agricultural cooperation and lay a solid foundation for future success.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto during his working visit to Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Azernews reports citing the Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects for deepening the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Hungary, cooperation within regional and international organizations, as well as plans for future projects.

Minister Bayramov underlined that the political dialogue, reciprocal visits, and mechanisms such as the strategic dialogue and political consultations between the two countries have played a key role in advancing bilateral relations. The ministers also reviewed opportunities for enhancing cooperation in various sectors – including economy, trade, investment, energy security, renewable resources, education, and culture.

Particular emphasis was placed on the growing potential for strengthening economic ties, with both sides highlighting the important role of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation in exploring new avenues for collaboration.

The discussion also covered renewable energy development, with both ministers reaffirming the significance of the Black Sea Submarine Cable and Green Middle Corridor initiatives as central elements of the Azerbaijan-Hungary strategic partnership.
