The new Audi A5 represents the pinnacle of the automaker’s technological vision, now featuring high-efficiency Mild Hybrid Plus technology in its diesel models for the first time. Built on Audi’s Premium Platform Combustion, which underpins both internal combustion engines and plug-in hybrid models, the A5 seamlessly combines cutting-edge digital systems with dynamic driving performance, Azernews reports, citing Korean media.

All trims come standard with Audi’s signature quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission. Engine options include the A5 40 TFSI quattro with 204 horsepower and 34.67 kilogram-meters (251 lb-ft) of torque, the A5 45 TFSI quattro producing 272 horsepower and 40.79 kilogram-meters of torque, and the high-performance S5 TFSI delivering 367 horsepower and 56.08 kilogram-meters of torque. The A5 40 TDI quattro diesel variant offers 204 horsepower with 40.79 kilogram-meters of torque, now enhanced with hybrid technology in the Advanced and S trims for improved fuel efficiency and reduced vibrations for a smoother ride.

The latest generation A5 is larger and more spacious, measuring 65 mm longer, 15 mm wider, and 25 mm taller than its predecessor. Its sleek coupe-style roofline and a tailgate that extends fully to the rear glass maintain a sporty silhouette while improving cargo accessibility. Across all trims, premium features include a switchable panoramic roof, high-beam assist, welcome lighting, and side mirror projection lights.

Lighting technology has been upgraded across the range: the A5 40 TDI quattro and A5 40 TFSI quattro Advanced feature standard LED headlights and taillights with dynamic turn signals. The S line adds Matrix LED technology with dynamic turn signals, while the Black Edition and S5 TFSI offer Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED taillights. Drivers can further personalize the lighting with eight customization options.

The interior combines sustainable premium materials with an ergonomically designed softwrap, offering a class-leading level of comfort and technology. Standard across trims are ventilated sport seats, dual-layer laminated windshields, heated seats for all occupants, ambient lighting, and a trunk partition net.

The S trim adds the Dynamic Interaction Light feature, while the S Black Edition amplifies the sporty feel with the S interior package, including S-logo embossed sports seats, stainless steel pedals, illuminated S-logo aluminum door sills, and black aluminum accents via the Vanadium package. The S5 TFSI goes further with Nappa leather Sports Seat Plus, red seat accents, Dinamica Package, Vanadium Package, and Carbon Micro Twill inlays.

Audi’s Digital Stage infotainment system offers either an 11.9-inch Virtual Cockpit Plus or a 14.5-inch MMI touch center display, with the S and S Black Edition featuring an additional 10.9-inch front passenger display. The Audi Application Store provides AI-based Audi Assistant and popular apps including YouTube, Spotify, and Naver Maps, keeping drivers both connected and entertained.

The A5 lineup includes seven trims: A5 40 TFSI quattro Advanced, A5 40 TFSI quattro S Line, A5 40 TFSI quattro S Line Black Edition, A5 45 TFSI quattro S Line, A5 40 TDI quattro Advanced, A5 40 TDI quattro S Line, and the S5 TFSI. Optional packages include the Tech Package with a head-up display and Bang and Olufsen sound system, standard on the S trim; the Brown Seat Package with nutmeg brown seats and a black headliner; and the Front Seat Headrest Speaker Package for the S trim, allowing for extensive personalization.

The “Wind of Culture” project continues in the Garabagh region, organized by the Culture Ministry’s Scientific, Methodological and Qualification Center for Culture (MEMIM) under the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry, Azernews reports.

As part of the project, which is supported by the Garabagh Regional Department of Culture, a masterclass was held on October 27 at the Barda City Children’s Art School No. 1, featuring Zahra Guliyeva, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, professor at the Baku Music Academy, and a renowned violinist.

At the beginning of the event, Farid Hajiyev, an employee of the sector for cultural institutions at the Garabagh Regional Department of Culture, expressed gratitude for the organization of the masterclass, stressing that such projects contribute to the development of talented children and youth in the respective fields.

Lala Karimova, head of the MEMIM Department and Honored Worker of Culture, in her speech, highlighted that the purpose of the masterclass was to enhance the musical taste of students and instil professional skills in them.

Subsequently, students from the Barda City Children’s Art School No. 1 and the Children’s Music School No. 2 of Barda city performed at the event.

People’s Artist Zahra Guliyeva drew the participants’ attention to interesting aspects of violin playing technique and offered her recommendations.

The professor also answered questions from teachers and students in detail.

At the end of the event, Zahra Guliyeva gifted the art school with her books.

First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has congratulated Trkiye on the occasion of 29 October – the Republic Day, Azernews reports.

‘Exactly five years ago, this territory (Horovlu village) was liberated from occupation, and this glorious history will always live in our hearts,’ said President Ilham Aliyev during his meeting with residents of Horovlu village in Jabrayil district, Azernews reports.

Stating that in a few days Azerbaijan will celebrate the fifth anniversary of its historic Victory, the head of state emphasized: ‘November 8 – Victory Day – stands as the brightest page in our history. Five years ago, our historic Victory reverberated across the world.’

The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit held in Khankendi, Azerbaijan, was a meeting where important and practical proposals were put forward, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said.

As reported by Azernews, President Pezeshkian made the remarks during the meeting of interior ministers of ECO member states held today in Tehran.

He noted that the ECO represents decades of collective effort by its member countries toward strengthening economic solidarity, and that the organization has achieved remarkable progress in this direction.

The Iranian President also emphasized that numerous untapped opportunities still remain. ‘Fortunately, member states continue to demonstrate strong political will to deepen and expand future cooperation,’ Pezeshkian added.

For reference, the 17th ECO Summit took place in July in Khankendi, Azerbaijan.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed on Monday that his country will never forget the help it received from North Korean soldiers in what he described as the liberation of the Kursk region from Ukraine, Azernews reports.

Speaking during a meeting with his North Korean counterpart, Choe Son-hui, in Moscow, Lavrov noted that “those deeds will, of course, further strengthen the bonds of friendship and historical commonality in our shared struggle for justice.”

He also underscored the boost that the relations between Russia and North Korea have experienced since their respective leaders, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, met in June 2024.

Furthermore, Lavrov confirmed that both he and Choe will attend the III Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, which will be held in the Belarusian capital on October 28 and 29.

The 15th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus is taking place in Baku, marking another step toward deepening bilateral economic collaboration, Azernews reports.

According to Azernews, the meeting is co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov from Azerbaijan and Deputy Prime Minister Natalya Petkevich from Belarus.

Discussions are focused on the implementation of the 2024-2025 Roadmap for cooperation between the two countries. The sides are exploring opportunities for joint projects across multiple sectors, including industry, agriculture, mechanical engineering, urban development, pharmaceuticals, vocational education, transport, logistics, trade, and investment.

As part of the visit, the co-chairs of the Commission are scheduled to travel to the Fuzuli and Aghdam regions on October 29, where they will review several ongoing and potential reconstruction projects, underscoring Belarus’s interest in contributing to Azerbaijan’s post-conflict recovery and development efforts.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the first phase of Horovlu village in Jabrayil district on October 28, Azernews reports.

Vahid Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, briefed the head of state on the completed work.

Horovlu village, occupied by Armenia in 1993, was liberated by the Azerbaijani Army on October 4, 2020.

The foundation of the village was laid by President Ilham Aliyev in May 2023. Last October, the head of state and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva inspected the construction of individual houses and social facilities.

Covering 248 hectares, Horovlu now has 334 individual houses with 2 to 5 rooms, equipped with modern utilities including water, electricity, gas, solar panels, and high-speed internet. The facades of the houses feature patterns of Karabakh carpets, and intra-village roads have been asphalted.

In the first phase, on 94 hectares of land, the construction of 334 individual houses, a 624-seat school, a 220-seat nursery-kindergarten, a two-story administrative building, a market complex, multi-functional catering facilities, a medical center, and a sports-health center has been completed.

In the village, historically used kahrizes – ‘Asgar,’ ‘Shighi,’ ‘Orta,’ ‘Gulgasim,’ and ‘Khalifa’ – which had been dismantled during the occupation, have been restored. A portion of Horovlu’s water supply will be ensured through these kahrizes.

President Aliyev inspected the nursery-kindergarten, which features a canteen, play and music rooms, and administrative, computer, and methodological rooms. Outdoor areas have been designed for engaging activities for children.

The head of state toured the modern secondary school building. It includes 26 classrooms, specialized rooms for chemistry, physics, biology, informatics, music, art, and military training; four laboratories; a library; a 180-seat assembly hall; an indoor sports hall; a canteen; and an open sports ground.

A 4.4-hectare park complex has been constructed, including a children’s play area, sports field, basketball court, table games zone, gazebos, and walking paths connecting the Flag Square to the market complex. Landscaping includes olive, plane, and elder trees, as well as natural stones incorporated into the design. Four buildings destroyed during the occupation were preserved as historical evidence.

The two-story administrative building houses a modern situation center employing a Geographic Information System (GIS) for efficient village management. The platform integrates the master plan, buildings, roads, and utilities, enabling real-time monitoring, decision-making, and 3D visualization.

After reviewing the facilities, President Ilham Aliyev met with residents moving to Horovlu and handed over the keys to their new homes.

The 15th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus is being held in Baku.

As reported by Azernews, the meeting is co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov and Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Natalya Petkevich.

During the session, it was noted that assembly of agricultural and special-purpose machinery continues at the Ganja Automobile Plant in cooperation with the Belarusian side.

The parties also emphasized ongoing work to expand local production of elevators in Azerbaijan within the framework of long-term cooperation with Belarus in elevator manufacturing and supply, in partnership with Mogilevliftmash.

According to the report, modernization and installation of 200 elevators are planned for completion in 2025.

From October 31 to November 2, Baku will host the major art festival “Fly to Baku. Art Weekend: Sense the Future NOW”, uniting art, culture, and environmental awareness, Azernews reports.

The project is organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the IDEA Public Union, in partnership with the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry. The author and initiator of the project is Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA Public Association.

This immersive project will transform Baku into a living space of contemporary creativity, dialogue, and discovery. Special attention will be devoted to the ecological situation in the oceans and seas, presented through the language of art.

The festival’s central theme is water, representing life, renewal, and sustainable progress. Chosen for its symbolism of resilience, rebirth, and shared history, water will serve as the focal point of the Art Weekend, encouraging a deep exchange between Azerbaijan and the global art community. As part of the project, three unique presentations will be showcased by Nigar Hasan-zade, poet and founder of Söz Multidisciplinary Center. Each of these multidisciplinary programs has been specially prepared for the festival and will take place at the Museum of Azerbaijani Painting of the 20th-21st Centuries.

“We are all eagerly looking forward to the start of this incredible festival, which holds great importance in the cultural life of our country. On behalf of our team, we invite everyone to join this grand celebration, which will forever remain in memory with its vivid colors and impressions,” said Nigar Hasan-zade.

The opening event is scheduled for November 1 at 18:00. It will feature an evening of ethno-Sufi music and poetry, presented by the groups Savalan and Çardaq. The event promises to deliver unforgettable experiences, with the soulful and spiritual voices of the singers, the enchanting verses of renowned Eastern poets, and live instrumental music all coming together to create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

The second event will be held on November 2 at 17:00, featuring students of the Azerbaijan State Children’s Philharmonic. This program is inspired by the poems of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The 45-minute children’s program will include dance, music, singing, recitation, rhythmic gymnastics, and acting. The sincerity, enthusiasm, and talent of the younger generation will surely touch every viewer’s heart.

Finally, on November 2 at 18:00, an evening of international poetry will take place, featuring some of the most renowned poets from around the world: Manuel Iris (USA), Luís Filipe Sarmento (Portugal), Hassan Najmi (Morocco), and Ataol Behramoglu (Turkiye).

Prominent Azerbaijani poets Vahid Aziz, Sabir Rustamkhanli, and Vagif Bahmanli will also perform alongside the international guests.
