Denise Richards Compares Aaron Phypers to Ex-Husband Charlie Sheen in Court

In her new testimony, Denise Richards called her split from estranged husband Aaron Phypers a nightmare compared to her breakup from ex-husband Charlie Sheen, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

On Tuesday, October 7, Richards, 54, testified for the second day as part of her effort to obtain a permanent restraining order against Phypers, 53.

During cross-examination by Phypers’ lawyer, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum was shown a video she sent Phypers on August 21, weeks after she was granted a temporary restraining order against him.

The length of the video was 11 minutes and 30 seconds, according to Phypers’ lawyer, who struggled to play the video at the hearing before finally getting it to work. Richards sent the video to Phypers after he gave multiple interviews to media outlets where he trashed her.

In the video, Richards can be seen wearing a yellow baseball cap.

She stated, “I called you a couple of times.” Richards continued, “I have so many questions for you. I feel like you had this whole f***ing thing planned.”

Richards said she didn’t watch any of the interviews, but her team had told her what he said. She added, “Whatever. It is what it is … things were bad with Charlie [Sheen] and I but he never hit below the belt.”

Richards and Sheen, 60, were married from 2002 until their split in 2005. The exes had a bitter divorce, which was finalized in 2006.

In the video shown in court, Richards told Phypers, “I believed you and I loved you. I really thought you were my soulmate when we got married.”

She added, “The fights were so fing bad, especially when your family moved here. I tried my hardest. I just couldn’t do that fing s***.”

“I get it, you’re upset that I filed a restraining order and other s***. You hit me one too many times and each time it was getting worse and worse,” she added.

“You did some serious damage. You were manic,” Richards alleged. “You were the one person I thought I could trust.”

Richards told Phypers in the video, “I feel like I was married to someone that I never even f***ing knew.”

“The last six months, when you didn’t stand up for me. Then I found stuff on your phone, that’s when I knew… this was all set up and I just had to bite the bullet. You filed [for divorce], I didn’t. You did.”

Richards called Phypers a “narcissist.”

“I don’t know you. That’s why I’m having such a hard time. Charlie, I know. Every other ex, I knew. I don’t know you. That’s why this has been so fing hard. That’s what I have to come to terms with. I don’t even know who the f you are.”

As Us previously reported, Phypers filed for divorce on July 7. He listed the date of marriage as September 8, 2018, and the date of separation as July 4, 2025.

On July 16, Richards filed for a temporary restraining order, claiming Phypers had been abusive throughout the marriage.

Phypers previously told Us, “These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful. Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue. I have always tried to approach our marriage with love, patience, and respect. I ask for privacy as we navigate personal matters, and I hope that the public and media will refrain from spreading harmful and baseless claims.”

Magic Johnson Gushes Over His ‘Best Friend’ and Wife Cookie Johnson

In the game of love, Earvin “Magic” Johnson knows he won big with his wife, Cookie Johnson.

“She’s my best friend besides being my wife,” Magic, 66, shared exclusively with Us Weekly at the HollyRod Foundation’s 2025 DesignCare Gala on Saturday, October 4. “Cookie is a caretaker and she takes care of myself, our kids, our grandchildren and all of her friends. She’s a woman of God, and it’s a blessing.”

Magic and Cookie met as freshmen at Michigan State University in the late 1970s. The pair would later marry in September 1991.

“I’ve been with her for 47 years and married for 34 years,” Magic said. “We’re business partners. It’s everything rolled into one.”

Celebrity Parents Share Inspiring Quotes on Raising Kids With Autism

In September, Magic and Cookie, 66, celebrated their wedding anniversary with an intimate lunch at the Bel Air Hotel with some of their closest friends, including Sugar Ray Leonard and actress Vanessa Calloway.

At the time, both parties expressed gratitude for their love story that continues to grow year after year.

“I love how our love is authentically our own, I enjoy every moment together, and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Cookie wrote via Instagram on September 14. “Here’s to our forever love!!”

Magic added, “A great celebration. Awesome food, awesome presentation, and the outside patio was fabulous! It made our 34th anniversary something to remember!”

Before supporting close friends Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete’s annual charity event — which raises funds to provide compassionate care to those living with autism and Parkinson’s disease — Cookie reflected on the early days of her romance with Magic.

“For me, I think I fell in love with the fact that Earvin is a gentleman. He was raised right,” she told Us at NYA EAST in Los Angeles. “Even when we were in college, he opened doors for you. He treated me well. He spoils me rotten. And that’s one thing I’ve always admired about him.”

She also respects her husband for being such a “hard worker” and never believing in giving up.

“When somebody knocks you down, he just gets right back up and he looks forward and figures it out from there,” Cookie gushed. “The rest of us are still down there crying going, ‘Why did they do that? Why me?’ And he’s like, ‘It’s done. We’re moving forward. Let’s figure it out.’”

While Magic and Cookie were happy to gush about each other, they were thrilled to praise Holly, 61, and Rodney, 59, for their philanthropic work with the HollyRod Foundation.

Founded in 1997, the nonprofit continues to advocate and support the autism and Parkinson’s communities.

“We’re just blessed to know them so well,” Magic said to Us. “We just love Holly and Rodney and what they stand for and what they’ve done for the community, and we continue to be blessed to know that they’re our friends.”

Cookie added, “[Holly] doesn’t just raise money, but she is out there in the field. She’s figuring out things. She’s helping to figure out where to put the money. If you see right now what she’s done with her son [RJ] and how far he’s come? It shows you the heart that they have and the hard work that they put in.”

Jenelle Evans’ Mom Barbara Briefly Hospitalized After Suffering a Stroke

Barbara Evans is on the road to recovery after reportedly suffering a stroke in North Carolina.

According to TMZ, Jenelle Evans’ mom experienced the health scare last week and has since been discharged from the hospital. She is recovering at home and is expected to make a full recovery.

Jenelle, 33, has been able to fly back to North Carolina to see her mom and be with family. She wasn’t able to fly home earlier to see Barbara because she had sinus surgery, TMZ reported.

According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Jenelle’s 16-year-old son, Jace, was by Barbara’s side while she was hospitalized on Wednesday, October 1. (In August, Jace moved from Las Vegas to North Carolina to stay with a relative who is presumed to be his grandmother.)

Well, Jenelle! ‘Teen Mom 2’ Alum Jenelle Evans, Mom Barbara’s Ups and Downs

Us Weekly has reached out to Jenelle’s team for comment.

Fans met Barbara when she appeared on Jenelle’s episode of MTV’s 16 and Pregnant in 2009.

When Jenelle continued to appear on Teen Mom 2 from 2011 to 2019, cameras often documented her unpredictable relationship with her mom.

One moment Teen Mom viewers won’t forget is when Jenelle chose not to invite Barbara to her September 2017 wedding to David Eason.

“She’s been saying she’s having her wedding, running around with her family of friends, but you know what she says? ‘My mother Barbara is not invited,’” Barbara recalled to People in July 2017. “She’s not inviting me to her own wedding. It’s very painful.”

During a 2016 episode of Teen Mom 2, Barbara called Eason, 37, “the worst boyfriend” her daughter has ever had.

While Jenelle followed through with the wedding, she filed for separation from Eason in March 2024 after six years of marriage. In July, the exes were declared legally divorced.

“After a really long and draining process, my divorce from David is official,” Jenelle told TMZ at the time. “This chapter has been heavy, but I’m walking away from it with clarity, strength and so much love for my kids. My focus is on them and our future, and I’m just thankful to finally have peace and a fresh start.”

While there were many reasons that led to the split, Jenelle said one aspect was David’s negative attitude.

“His attitude that he had, putting everyone in a bad mood all the time,” she told Us in June. “Everyone was walking on eggshells, and I’m like, I don’t have to live like this and I don’t have to stay together just because we have kids.”

This past summer, Jenelle shared an update on where she stands with her mom. According to the reality star, things have improved now that cameras aren’t following their every move.

“[Things are] good,” Jenelle shared with Us before hosting her “I Do, I Did, I’m Done” divorce party in June. “We talk from time to time, but not every day.”

When asked if it has been good to have some distance, the former Teen Mom 2 star agreed “because I can only handle her in doses.”

Jenelle later confirmed the mother-daughter duo have figured out what works for the two of them after years of ups and downs.

Matthew Perry Went to Ozzy Osbourne’s House for AA Meetings Before Death

Ozzy Osbourne was notorious for partying hard in his youth, but the rocker got sober before his death — and occasionally crossed paths with other sober celebrities.

In the posthumous memoir, Last Rites, Osbourne revealed that he crossed paths with Matthew Perry while the latter was in AA. “He used to come to our house for AA meetings, or so my wife tells me,” Osbourne wrote in the book, which hit shelves Tuesday, October 7. “The funniest, most talented bloke. And he was trying so hard to stay on the right path.”

Osbourne, who died of a heart attack in July at age 76, went on to note that he was heartbroken by Perry’s death. The Friends alum died of an accidental ketamine overdose at age 54 in October 2023.

“Then one day he listened to his addiction telling him it was OK to get loaded, and that was it — game over,” the Grammy winner wrote. “I felt so sad when they said he’d been found in his hot tub, unresponsive, with ketamine in his system. He’d given everything he had to stay clean. But it wasn’t enough.”

Ozzy Osbourne’s New Book Debunks Wild Rumors About His Past: Biggest Reveals

While Osbourne was sober before his death, he had difficulty staying clean over the years. In the book, he described 2012 as the year he last “fell off the wagon.” After his wife, Sharon Osbourne, “busted” him and sold the cars he’d bought during his bender, he attended 90 meetings in 90 days at the AA Log Cabin in West Hollywood.

“It helped me, all that AA stuff,” he recalled. “Got me started on the way back to being sober. If you’re on your own, the voice in your head is too persuasive.”

After that, Ozzy thought he might be ready to “break free” from his “addictive personality” and try ketamine treatment with help from a doctor after Sharon, now 72, had tried it.

‘Ozzy: No Escape From Now’ Doc Revelations: Botched Neck Surgery and More

“They started me on this tiny dose. A microdose, they call it,” he recalled. “But the second I felt it kick in — a very small but unmistakable altering of the mind — I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, I could have some serious fun with this.’”

Ozzy said he “recognized it immediately for what it was” and never tried ketamine again. “For the first time in years, I was able to be really honest with myself,” he added. “When I walked out of that ketamine clinic, I told myself I’d never let addiction steal my spirit from me again.”

Before his death, Perry had also gotten sober, which he wrote about in his own memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. On the one-year anniversary of his death, his stepfather, Keith Morrison, said he believed his stepson had his ketamine use under control.

Ozzy Osbourne Explained Why Last Gig Felt Like ‘Torture’ in New BBC Doc

“Though he had been treated with ketamine, it hadn’t turned into something that he couldn’t control,” Morrison, 78, said on the Today show in October 2024. “Although, he was a guy who would make decisions. ‘I can handle this. I can do this. I can tell you what’s right. I know the whole system inside and out. I know what the drug will do to me.’ So, there was the worry [of like], ‘What’s he really doing?’”

Perry’s half-sister, Madeleine Morrison, added, “I don’t even know if in his mind, he had relapsed.”

Last Rites is out now.
