Villagers in a remote Indonesian community were left in shock and disbelief when rescuers uncovered the body of a missing man inside the swollen belly of a massive python measuring nearly eight meters in length.

The tragic discovery came after an overnight search for the man, who had disappeared while walking home from his plantation.

According to local reports, the search party followed clues along a jungle path before coming across the enormous snake, whose midsection appeared unnaturally bloated.

When the villagers decided to cut open the python, they were horrified to find the body of the missing man inside, still fully clothed — a grim confirmation of their worst fears.

Witnesses described the scene as “unimaginable” and “beyond anything we’ve ever seen.”

News of the shocking event quickly spread across Indonesia and beyond, drawing global attention and reigniting discussions about the dangers posed by the region’s large reticulated pythons — among the world’s longest and most powerful snakes.

Experts say that while such cases are extremely rare, pythons have been known to prey on large animals, and in very isolated incidents, humans.

The reptiles kill by constriction, wrapping around their victim and suffocating them before swallowing their prey whole.

Wildlife specialists are now investigating how the incident occurred, suggesting that factors such as habitat encroachment and shrinking food sources may have increased the likelihood of human–python encounters.

The tragedy has left the village shaken, serving as a chilling reminder of nature’s raw power — and the thin line that sometimes separates myth from terrifying reality.

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Blue Eagles Reserve continues soaring high on the summit of the MK25 million Chipiku Stores Premier Division League table following their Wednesday’s 3-0 thumping of TN Stars FC at Nankhaka Stadium.

The Cops broke the deadlock in the 16th minute through Blessings Makhula who slotted the ball into the net from Welliex Ngwenya’s cross.

The home side continued with their dominance in the half, though they wasted numerous scoring opportunities through Innocent Dzimbira and Enock Jobo until the final whistle of the first stanza came with the scoreline at 1-0.

In the second half, the visitors made several changes as Rashid Gunga, Isaac Moses and George Lutepo made their way onto the pitch for Jembason Nyasulu, Jorden Nthala and Kondwani Chirambo.

The substitutions brought stability to the TN Stars squad as they pushed for an equalizer, with Noah Malizwe operating on the wing and troubling the Eagles defense led by Alexander Chigawa on several occasions.

However, their efforts did not bear any fruit as the home side defended well.

In the 54th minute, Chrispin Singano extended Eagles Reserve’s lead, scoring from a rebound after Enock Jobo’s effort was initially saved by goalkeeper Precious Tambala.

Singano made no mistake, sending the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2-0.

Just as the visitors thought they might reduce the deficit, Eagles stretched their lead in the 57th minute through Moses Mwale, who received a stunning pass from Chrispin Singano to make it 3-0.

This time it was beyond the reach of Stars, who failed to shine at Nankhaka Stadium.

Blue Eagles assistant coach Alupheus Nyoni made a tactical change in the 66th minute, opting to rest some players as Ashley Chimseu and Blessings Kavulala replaced Enock Jobo and Blessings Makhula.

The young Cops continued pressing, but their efforts were repeatedly denied by goalkeeper Precious Tambala.

Eagles made triple changes in the 77th minute as Misheck Jere, Martin Andrew and Kondwani Silva replaced Welliex Ngwenya, Stacio Chibala and goalkeeper Wisdom Khuni.

With the changes, the home side pinned the visitors in their own half, making it difficult for Stars to penetrate until the final whistle confirmed the 3-0 victory for the home side.

Chrispin Singano was later voted player of the match and received MK50,000 from the Central Region Football Association (CRFA).

In a post-match interview, Blue Eagles Reserve assistant coach Alupheus Nyoni praised his charges for the victory, revealing they capitalized on their opponents’ delay on the ball.

“Indeed we have won 3-0. We took our chances which we created, though we were supposed to score more,” he said.

TN Stars FC head coach Limbani Mwakhwawa acknowledged the defeat, saying his boys respected the home team, especially in the first half.

“Second half we came out as a changed side after we talked to the boys,” Mwakhwawa said.

The victory has now brought Eagles Reserve’s points tally to 44 from 18 games, having managed to win 14 games, draw 2 and lose 2.

They are six points clear of second-placed Extreme FC, who have 38 points following their 2-0 victory over Shire Wimbe at Owen Malijani ground in Mchinji.

Tonny Phiri scored the first goal for Extreme in the 27th minute before Jana Buleya netted the second for the Mchinji

-based side. Buleya was later voted man of the match.

Meanwhile, Chisomo Academy based in Kasungu Municipality has been awarded the maximum points without kicking the ball as Green Rangers FC failed to show up at Kasungu Stadium for the match.

Mchinji Boma Strikers produced a massive 1-0 away win over Silver Strikers FC at ADL ground in Lilongwe.

Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg’s mom, Kelly Flagg, has cleared the air after she went viral for seemingly reacting to general manager Nico Harrison’s firing.

Kelly shared a post via X on Monday, November 10, in which a Mavericks fan complained about Cooper, 18, having to hear “fire Nico” chants while he is shooting free throws. The post called Harrison, 52, a distraction. The organization fired him the next day.

“Cooper Flagg’s mom has entered the chat 😳,” The Athletic’s NBA X account wrote on Tuesday. “Kelly Flagg reposted a fan tweet about Nico Harrison to her X account.”

“Retweet wasn’t about firing Nico,” Kelly replied in a quote-post. “It was about the fact that the fans were chanting during our free throws. Our guys had nothing to do with what went down.”

MCHINJI-(MaraviPost)-President Arthur Peter Mutharika Government on Wednesday officially launched of the 2025/2026 Farm Input Subsidy Programme (FISP) in Mchinji District, fulfilling a key promise he made during the opening of the 52nd Session of Parliament on October 31, 2025.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, President Mutharika expressed satisfaction that his administration had successfully implemented one of its major policy commitments aimed at improving agricultural productivity and food security.

The President reminded Malawians that during his parliamentary address, he had pledged that the FISP would return this farming season, targeting 1.1 million households across the country.

Each beneficiary household, he said, would receive two 50kg bags of fertilizer at a subsidized price of K10,000 per bag, along with a 5kg pack of seed of their choice.

The President emphasized that the reintroduction of FISP was part of his broader vision to revitalize Malawi’s agriculture sector, enhance national food security, and stimulate rural economic growth.

“I am excited that today, my Government has fulfilled that promise by officially launching the 2025/2026 Farm Inputs Subsidy Programme in Mchinji District,” he wrote.

He said the program was designed to boost production, empower smallholder farmers, and ensure prosperity for all Malawians.

President Mutharika reaffirmed his commitment to honesty and accountability in leadership, stating that he will only make promises that his administration is capable of delivering.

“As your President, I will deliver on my promises, and I will only promise that which I can deliver,” he declared.

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Salima–Lilongwe Water Supply Project, once hailed as Malawi’s flagship infrastructure development, is now facing serious setbacks due to corruption, political interference, and weak management systems.

The multi-billion-kwacha project, designed to channel water from Lake Malawi in Salima to Lilongwe City, was intended to end decades of persistent water shortages in the capital.

However, recent report which we have seen reveal growing internal wrangles, misuse of funds, and delays have crippled progress.

Sources close to the project allege that some officials have turned the initiative into a tool for personal and political gain rather than focusing on its core mission of providing clean and reliable water to residents of Lilongwe.

The project involves a 120-kilometre pipeline, several pumping stations, and modern water treatment facilities.

By October 2025, construction had reportedly reached around 35 percent, but insiders now say work has almost come to a halt.

Delayed payments, procurement disputes, and a lack of transparency have been identified as major obstacles.

Experts warn that if the current trend of corruption and mismanagement continues, the project could collapse entirely wasting billions of taxpayers’ money and leaving the capital city’s residents still struggling with water scarcity.

Some civil society groups suspect deliberate sabotage by individuals with vested political or business interests in maintaining the status quo.

The situation has sparked public concern about accountability and leadership within government institutions overseeing the project.

Advocacy groups are now calling for an independent audit and tighter oversight mechanisms to protect public resources.
