Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw officially retired from professional baseball following his team’s World Series 2025 victory.

The Dodgers clinched back-to-back World Series trophies on Saturday, November 1, with a Game 7 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in 11 innings. It was another very competitive game between the two teams, as the Dodgers squeaked by with a 5-4 victory.

Following the Dodgers’ win, Major League Baseball paid tribute to Kershaw via X by declaring that he was “go[ing] out on top.” Kershaw, 37, confirmed in September that he planned to walk away from the sport this year after playing 18 seasons for the Dodgers.

Earlier in the day, the 11-time All-Star spoke to the MLB Network about how he was feeling as he approached the final game of his professional career.

“I have so many emotions. I think all of us do,” the three-time Cy Young Award winner admitted. “It’s Game 7 and I think about it all. How cool is that, man?”

The pitcher added, “You can’t script it any better than that so I’m just really grateful. It’s going to be an awesome night and hopefully one more win.”

Kershaw did get up in the bullpen during Game 7 at Rogers Centre in Toronto, but it was Yoshinobu Yamamoto who finished off the night with a game-winning double-play.

Clayton’s wife, Ellen Kershaw, and their four children — Cali, Charley, Cooper and Chance — were often in attendance to support the MLB star throughout the postseason. The athlete revealed in a live interview with Dodger Nation in June that Ellen is pregnant with the couple’s fifth baby.

“We’ve got #5 coming,” he beamed. “We’ve got another girl coming. We’ve got bookend girls to go with our three boys.”

The Dodgers pitching roster had an unexpected shakeup days before the World Series started when the team announced that Alex Vesia was taking time away to deal with a personal matter.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we share that Alex Vesia is away from the team as he and his wife Kayla navigate a deeply personal family matter,” the team announced. “The entire Dodgers organization is sending our thoughts to the Vesia family and we will provide an update at a later date.”

No other details about the situation have been publicly revealed, though Kayla is pregnant with her and Alex’s first child. The Dodgers paid tribute to their missing compatriot by stitching Vesia’s number into their hats ahead of Game 3.

Following Game 3, Clayton admitted to the press that the entire Dodgers squad was feeling Alex’s absence.

“It’s just something that we talked about,” Kershaw said of their coordinated hats. “I’m new to the bullpen, but Ves, he means a lot to all of us. And he was a huge part of this team, huge part of that bullpen. So, we just wanted to do something to honor him.”

Elsewhere, Dodgers pitcher Evan Phillips added that their teammate’s departure was “playing on [their] hearts recently.”

“We certainly miss him on the field, but we know that we have his back and the support’s there for them while they’re going through this hard time,” he told the media.

Ant Anstead is on the road to recovery following a “freak” sports accident.

The Celebrity IOU: Joyride star, 46, revealed to his Instagram followers on Saturday, November 1, that he is now focused on his health after a series of setbacks, including suffering multiple serious injuries in a soccer mishap.

“October can officially go away! Three close and beloved friends received terrible diagnosis [sic]! It kick started me to look closer at my health, and I went down many rabbit holes…. Diet, peptides, body scans, vitamins etc etc,” Anstead wrote. “Then WHAMMO!! A freak footy accident and I detached my pectoral muscle and tore my rotator cuff and labrum!”

The TV host admitted that his sports injuries were forcing him to take some much-needed time to rest.

“Surgery now complete and I am forced to rest (which I don’t do well)….! Many of Anstead’s famous friends sent well-wishes, including racing driver Chris Buncombe replying: “Ah mate so sorry to hear this. Get well.”

Many were excited that Anstead still managed to post a shirtless photo in his underwear despite multiple injuries.

“Rest up,” singer Imelda May responded. “But I mean you have to work on those tights mate! Fishnets would up your game. 🔥 Get well soon X.”

Anstead’s unfortunate health setback came a few weeks after his reunion with his ex-wife Christina Haack at their son Hudson’s parent-teacher conference at school. He shared photos from the family’s big day, in addition to assuring Instagram followers that “Hudzo is thriving” in school.

“We doing a great job with this little chap! Nice work mum,” he wrote to Haack.

During a February episode of HGTV’s The Flip Off, Haack shared the way Anstead supported her following her most recent divorce from Josh Hall. (Haack was first married to Flip or Flop costar Tarek El Moussa from 2009 to 2018. They share a daughter Taylor, 15, and a son Brayden, 10. Tarek has since married Selling Sunset alum Heather Rae El Moussa and they share 2-year-old son Tristan.)

“Ant and I split up when Hudson was 1 and now he is 5. Between the time of his first birthday and fifth, we did not communicate a lot,” she explained.

The Christina on the Coast star, 42, went on, “After Josh and I split up, I went over to his house to pick up Hudson and he gave me a huge hug. We hadn’t hugged in years and he said, ‘I am so sorry for everything you are going through and I am here for you no matter what you need.’ It was a very nice moment and we had a very long talk after. We decided to put all the BS aside and be good coparents.”

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-In a last-minute change, the Office of the President and Cabinet has announced that the swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed cabinet ministers, deputy ministers, and the Attorney General has been set today Sunday.

The ceremony, initially scheduled for Saturday, at 2 o’clock, will now take place today at the same time.

According to Chief Secretary Dr. Justin Adack K. Saidi, the postponement would not impact the government’s transition process.

President Arthur Peter Mutharika’s administration has been working diligently to ensure a seamless transition, and the new cabinet is set to bring fresh perspectives to the table.

The newly appointed cabinet has garnered attention for its lean structure, with many sectors commending the President for making it the leanest cabinet ever.

The appointments have been praised for striking a balance between competence and representation, with a focus on meritocracy and national unity.

The cabinet’s composition reflects a mix of experienced professionals and new faces, all working towards delivering tangible results for the Malawian people.

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Police Service (MPS) have arrested a suspected ringleader of the panga-wielding gang that has been behind a series of violent attacks in Lilongwe and surrounding areas.

The three suspects arrested on November 2, 2025 have been identified as Bruno Munlo Makina (37), of Mponda Vge, T/A Msamala in Balaka; Erick Phakamisa (40), of Undi Vge, T/A Kaphuka in Dedza; and Hanif Banda (23), of Wimbe Vge, T/A Wimbe in Kasungu.

The suspects are believed to be former President Lazarus Chakwera’s Malawi Congress Party (MCP) zealots.

National Police Service Deputy publicist Alfred Chimthere told The Maravi Post on Sunday afternoon, November 2, 2025 that “Munlo Makina is believed to have been coordinating some of the gang’s criminal activities”.

The police publicist adds, “Banda and Phakamisa are also directly connected to various offences of attacks that have been under investigation.

“The arrests were made following sustained investigations and coordinated intelligence operations.”

Chinthere explains further, “This latest breakthrough brings the total number of suspects apprehended in the ongoing operation to fifteen (15).

“All suspects are currently in Police custody pending court appearance. The MPS reiterates its unwavering commitment to bringing all perpetrators of violent crime to justice”.

D’Angelo has reportedly been laid to rest following his death at age 51 from pancreatic cancer.

Huff Post deputy editor Philip Lewis shared a funeral program from D’Angelo’s friend Bill McGee that indicated the musician’s memorial was held on Saturday, November 1, in Henrico, Virginia. According to the handout, Bishop Ralland V. Robinson conducted the service and gave a eulogy for the “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” singer, while Pastor Jamal Bryant delivered a special video message. Stevie Wonder, harpist Brandee Younger and D’Angelo’s former backing back The Soultronics all performed musical selections.

The “celebration of life” program also included a message from D’Angelo’s loved ones: “We wish to express our profound gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of support. … Through music, love and light, Michael D’Angelo’s spirit will shine forever.”

“Truthfully, I wasn’t ready for that gut punch,” he confessed. “I’d been bracing for it for some 25 years — since the deluge of [album] Voodoo in 2000. D’Angelo’s family confirmed the shocking news on October 14 that the musician (real name Michael Eugene Archer) had succumbed following a long battle with cancer.

“The shining star of our family has dimmed his light for us in this life,” they told Us in a statement. “After a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer, we are heartbroken to announce that Michael D’Angelo Archer, known to his fans around the world as D’Angelo, has been called home, departing this life today, October 14th, 2025.”

Their statement continued, “We are saddened that he can only leave dear memories with his family, but we are eternally grateful for the legacy of extraordinarily moving music he leaves behind. We ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time but invite you all to join us in mourning his passing while also celebrating the gift of song that he has left for the world.”

The four-time Grammy Award winner is survived by three children. He shared son Michael Archer with late soul singer Angie Stone, who died in a car crash at age 63 in March. He also had daughter Imani Archer and son Morocco Archer from other relationships. All three children were listed as speakers at his “celebration of life.”

In October, D’Angelo’s eldest son Michael shared his grief over the tragedy of losing both of his parents in the same calendar year.

“I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers during these very difficult times, as it has been a very rough and sad year for me,” Michael, 27, told People. “I ask that you please continue to keep me in your thoughts as it will not be easy, but one thing that both my parents taught me was to be strong, and I intend to do just that.”

His half-sister Imani described D’Angelo’s death as an “immeasurable loss,” before admitting that she was still in “absolute disbelief and shock.”

Cardi B’s estranged husband, Offset, is being sued by a security guard amid his mounting tax troubles.

Us Weekly obtained court documents on Saturday, November 1, that show security guard Jim Sanchez filed a suit alleging assault, battery and intentional affliction of emotional distress against Offset (real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus) over the rapper’s disastrous visit to the MedMen LAX dispensary in March. Sanchez alleged that Offset “became hostile, verbally confrontational, and physically attacked Plaintiff by striking him in the face” when asked to show identification. (TMZ originally reported the news.)

Sanchez accused several others of joining in to “further assault and batter” him during the altercation. The security guard claimed that he was eventually taken to a local hospital by paramedics due to suffering severe head and neck pain.

Offset’s representative previously previously told TMZ that a dispensary guard rushed him and spit in the hip-hop star’s face during the dispute over showing identification. His spokesperson denied that Offset initiated the violence.

Meanwhile, Us exclusively reported on Wednesday, October 29 that Offset was hit by a new six-figure lien from the IRS that brings the total of his unpaid tax bill to over $2.3 million. The government agency alleged on October 15 that Offset owed $486,426.35 in taxes for 2023 and previously filed a separate lien in 2024 for $1,575,266.73 in taxes for 2022.

In March, the Georgia Department of Revenue filed a lien of $292,000 for 2021. The original sum of $167,916 had ballooned due to interest ($53,000), penalties ($40,000), and collection fees ($33,000) that the government said that Offset owed.

Offset is also battling a $232,000 judgment against him over an alleged assault at a Florida strip club, after Leamsy Izquierdo and Humberto Crespo accused him of attacking them at the venue in 2021. According to court documents obtained by Us, Izquierdo and Crespo formally filed to begin the collection process against Offset earlier this year.

The suit came about due to an alleged confrontation with Offset over his then-wife Cardi B being pelted with champagne by someone in the club. Izquierdo and Crespo denied having anything to do with spraying the champagne, but they accused Offset of suddenly walking into the crowd to attack them.

A Miami judge granted the alleged victims’ request for a default judgment late last year, but Offset asked for the judgment to be thrown out in April because he claimed to have never received necessary legal documents. A hearing will take place in February 2026.

Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset in August 2024 after six years of marriage. The two previously split in 2018 but later reconciled. They share three children: Kulture Kiari Cephus, 7, son Wave, 4, and daughter Blossom, 1. (Offset also has three other children from previous relationships.)

“[The divorce] has been a long time coming and is amicable,” Cardi B’s spokesperson told Us at the time.

During an October appearance on the “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast, Offset admitted to having regrets about the demise of his marriage.

“I should have respected her way more. I made bad decisions, like stepping out,” Offset told host Keke Palmer. “Gotta take that on the chin. When she left, I had to take that on the chin. … We got so much, our kids, to live for. I was being selfish, and I can say that as a man.”
