KWAZULU NATAL-(MaraviPost)-KwaZulu-Natal’s representation in South Africa’s elite women’s football has continued to shrink after Royal AM were confirmed as the second team to be relegated from the 2025 Hollywoodbets Super League, joining Durban Ladies who went down earlier this month.

The relegation of Royal AM, who were formerly known as Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies before relocating to Pietermaritzburg in 2023, leaves Ezemvelo Ladies as the only surviving team from the province in the top-flight league.

Once a proud region boasting competitive women’s clubs, KwaZulu-Natal now finds itself facing an uncertain future in women’s football.

Royal AM’s journey has been a turbulent one. After promising seasons that saw them finish as high as third in 2019 under the Bloemfontein Celtic banner, the club’s fortunes have steadily declined over the past few years.

Their troubles deepened this season when they lost several key players, forcing them to field makeshift lineups and endure heavy defeats, including a 5–0 loss to TS Galaxy Queens and an 8–0 hammering by Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.

The team’s relegation was mathematically confirmed following a 2–1 defeat to the University of Johannesburg last weekend, leaving them stranded on just 13 points from 27 matches.

With only three victories all season and 20 losses, Royal AM have struggled to keep pace with the rest of the league.

Their last realistic hope vanished when 14th-placed First Touch Ladies reached 23 points, making survival impossible.

Royal AM’s downfall reflects a wider concern for women’s football development in KwaZulu-Natal.

The back-to-back loss of Durban Ladies and now Royal AM underscores the lack of investment, sponsorship and player development in the province.

Ezemvelo Ladies remain the only beacon of hope, currently positioned safely in mid-table.

As Royal AM prepare to play their remaining fixtures, starting with a home clash against the University of Pretoria on Sunday, 2 November at Harry Gwala Stadium, the focus has shifted to the upcoming Sasol League National Play-offs, where two new teams will be promoted to replace this season’s casualties.

The formation of the Northern Region Political Block, spearheaded by Frank Mwenifumbo, Khumbo Kachali, and Dr. Victor Madhlopa, is a stark reminder of the divisive politics that have long threatened the fabric of our nation.

This bloc, masquerading as a champion of regional interests, is nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to divide Malawi and undermine the very foundations of our national unity.

By advocating for a Northern Region Block, these politicians are, in essence, promoting regionalism over nationalism.

They are pitting one region against another, fueling the very fires of tribalism and sectarianism that have ravaged many African countries.

This is a recipe for disaster, and we must condemn it in the strongest possible terms.

The idea of a Northern Region Block may seem appealing to some, particularly those who feel marginalized or disenfranchised.

However, the reality is that such a bloc would only serve to further balkanize our country, creating divisions that would be impossible to heal.

If the Northern Region can form a bloc, why not the Central Region or the Southern Region? Where would this end? Would we soon have a plethora of regional blocs, each vying for power and resources, and each more entrenched in their regional identities?

The consequences of such a scenario would be catastrophic.

We would be creating a nation of competing regional interests, where loyalty to one’s region supersedes loyalty to the nation.

We would be sacrificing national unity on the altar of regionalism, and the results would be devastating.

Our economy would suffer, our infrastructure would crumble, and our people would be pitted against one another in a desperate scramble for resources.

Moreover, what guarantee do we have that this bloc would truly serve the interests of the Northern Region? The track record of these politicians is hardly inspiring.

They have held positions of power before, and yet the North remains one of the most underdeveloped regions in the country. What makes them think that this time would be any different?

The answer, of course, is that this bloc is not about serving the interests of the North or any other region.

It is about serving the interests of these politicians, who are more concerned with clinging to power than with serving the people.

They are using the legitimate concerns of the North as a smokescreen to further their own agendas, and we must not let them get away with it.

We must reject this divisive politics and stand up for national unity.

We must demand that our politicians prioritize the interests of Malawi over and above their regional or ethnic loyalties.

We must insist on a politics of inclusion, where every Malawian feels valued and represented, regardless of their region or background.

The Northern Region Political Block is a recipe for disaster, and we must condemn it in the strongest possible terms.

We must stand together as Malawians and reject this attempt to divide us.

We owe it to ourselves, our children, and our nation to build a brighter future, a future based on unity, stability, and harmony.

Let us stand together and say no to regionalism, no to tribalism, and no to sectarianism.

Let us stand together and demand a politics of inclusion, a politics that puts the interests of Malawi first. The time for divisive politics is over; it is time for unity, stability, and harmony.

Let us build a Malawi that is truly for all Malawians, a nation where every citizen feels valued, respected, and represented.

Enough is enough; stop the Northern Region Political Block and let us move forward together as one people, one nation.

Klum, 52, revealed her 2025 Halloween costume at her annual party in New York City on Friday, October 31. For the holiday, she dressed up as Medusa, the mythical snake-haired creature who is able to turn people to stone with just her gaze

Her costume featured intricate and scary-looking detailing that covered her entire body, with Klum even sporting a tail.

The America’s Got Talent judge made her look even more realistic with prosthetics, including the snakes atop her head in place of her hair, which wriggled and moved individually. To seal the deal, she carried a bow and arrow prop.

Klum’s husband Tom Kaulitz, 36, got in on the action, wearing a costume that complemented his wife’s outfit. In a head-to-toe grey attire, Kaulitz embodied a Greek solider who had been turned to stone by Medusa’s gaze.

Speaking to E! News at her party, Klum shared details of the elaborate preparation required to get into character, revealing it took 10 hours to get ready for the night’s event.

“Everything is hand-painted,” Klum told the outlet. “About 15 people have been working on this, and I think they did a fantastic job.”

She added, “I’ve been thinking about Medusa for quite some time because I’ve seen over the years obviously many, many Medusas, and I thought, You know, one day I’m going to try my own…I really wanted to have snakes that were moving, a super-ugly, super-scary face, really ugly teeth, and to be like a really long rattlesnake.”

Klum previously teased what she would be wearing while chatting with Good Morning America.

“I’m ready already,” she told the publication on Wednesday, October 29. “But if I had to give you a tease, I’m gonna be very ugly. Very scary! But very ugly.”

She also told Entertainment Tonight that her teeth are “pretty scary.”

“This is a good hint, she said, holding up a zoomed-in picture of her mouth. “They are so sharp. I have to make sure I don’t have my tongue [poking] it. Like chicken skewers.”

She joked, “I hope I can still kiss in this.” When asked exactly “how ugly” her costume would be, Klum replied, “From a scale of one to 10, it’s gonna be 11.” She added, “It’s gonna be a lot of prosthetics and a lot of paint and spray and I’m gonna break out in so many hives and pimples tomorrow.” Klum noted that no matter how irritated her skin gets, it’s still “worth it” to dress up.

“I know that the people around the world are watching and I love it so much. I know I have so many Halloween fans out there and I never want to let them down.”

Klum gave her fans a glimpse of her 2025 costume via Instagram on Friday, while starting to get dressed up. The model zoomed in on her face, which was painted orange with green undertones. Her eyebrows were covered up and she wore a bald cap.

“#heidihalloween 👻🕷️💚,” she captioned the post. Fans guessed what she might be in the comments section.

“Grinch 👀,” one questioned, while another wondered if she was being “a labubuuuu?” Another commented, “Grinch, Gremlin or Slimer are my guesses.”

Some of her celebrity friends got in on the fun, too. Winnie Harlow playfully wrote, “The queen of Halloween is coming 😍🔥🔥.”

Klum also shared a clip of Kaulitz getting ready. He also put on a bald cap. She beamed for the camera and blew a kiss before ending the video.

Last year, Klum dressed as a peacock. She wore a blue bodysuit with prosthetics resembling the bird’s face. To make the look even more dramatic, she posed with dancers on the red carpet who acted as her feathers.

Fans are convinced that Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, may have taken a subtle swipe at her former partner and his fiancée Taylor Swift.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, October 31, Nicole, 33, shared a post showing off her Halloween outfit for 2025.

In the post, the influencer showed she had dressed up as Toni Braxton for the holiday, specifically recreating the singer’s look from her “He Wasn’t Man Enough” music video.

It was the song choice that sent her followers into a tail spin, with several interpreting it as a subtle dig at Kelce, 36. (Nicole and Kelce dated from 2017 to 2022.)

In other parts of the song, the lyrics continued, “What you thinkin’? / Stop blamin’ me / He wasn’t man enough for me / If you don’t know, now here’s the chance / I’ve already had your man.”

Swifties have previously theorized that The Life of a Show Girl’s new song “Opalite” is subtly shading Nicole with its lyrics.

“You couldn’t understand it / Why you felt alone / You were in it for real / She was in her phone / You were just a pose,” Swift, 35, sings on the track. “And don’t we try to love love / And give it all we got / You finally left the table / And what a simple thought / You’re starving ’til you’re not.”

Some fans believe Swift is subtly referencing Nicole, with many pointing to a resurfaced social media clip of Kelce and Nicole interacting at dinner during their relationship.

“Oh, my God. Get off your phone,” Kelce said in one resurfaced clip. “Get off your phone. … You’re not even drinking your wine anymore, can we go?”

Nicole has also recently been accused of subtly taking a jab at Swift following the singer’s 12th studio album release, which featured “Opalite” among its track list.

Nicole shared a throwback clip of Eva Marcille’s America’s Next Top Model audition from cycle 3 in 2004.

“How do you compare yourself to other girls out there?” host Tyra Banks asked Marcille, now 40, in the footage.

Marcille quickly responded, “I don’t compare myself to other girls. I’m Eva. I’m no comparison to anyone else.”

Although Nicole did not explain the post or offer up any additional context at the time, some Swifties believed it may have been her way of addressing the song.

Swift and Kelce have been dating since summer 2023 and announced their engagement in August.

Boston Blue found a way to reunite Donnie Wahlberg and Marisa Ramirez on screen again as Danny and Baez’s romance heats up — but they weren’t the only couple who felt love in the air.

During the Friday, October 31, episode of the Blue Bloods spinoff, Danny (Wahlberg) took a selfie in Boston that he sent to Baez (Ramirez) while suggesting their next date. Blue Bloods fans then got a fun Easter egg when Danny’s partner, Lena (Sonequa Martin-Green), picked up a photo frame on his desk that showed him with Baez and sister Erin (Bridget Moynahan).

But Danny wasn’t the only one thinking about love after Lena crossed paths with former partner Detective Brian Rodgers (Ryan Broussard). Lena acknowledged she had feelings for Brian, who clearly felt the same way. Brian tried to talk to Lena about going on a date now that they weren’t working together, but she blew him off until Danny offered her some advice.

“I did refuse to date my partner even though there were obviously feelings there. After my wife died, I was afraid to get hurt again and I didn’t want to regret it,” Danny told Lena. “A very wise man gave me some very sage advice. And I don’t regret it.”

When the audience last saw Danny in the 2024 series finale, he received some advice from his grandfather Henry (Len Cariou), specifically about his feelings for Baez.

“I always told you not to bring the job home,” Henry told Danny in the 2024 series finale, adding that the “problem now is you have no one not to bring it home to.” Henry told Danny to promise he’d “find that someone” after his case.

Danny was then seen asking Baez out on a date, saying, “You wanna get a pizza”

Boston Blue, which premiered earlier this month, began with Danny visiting Boston after his son ended up in a coma. Before Danny officially moved to Massachusetts, a scene showing his life in New York featured a cameo from Ramirez.

“You should always worry about long-distance,” Ramirez exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of her Boston Blue cameo, referring to Baez and Danny’s future. “You never know what’s gonna happen. Always worry.”

Ramirez teased that Baez and daughter Elena “could move to Boston, no problem” if there was interest.

According to Ramirez, fans can expect “a little bit of push and pull and back and forth until something does happen” to make them find a better solution.

“I would hope she’s gonna be in more than just one scene out of this whole season, right?” she teased. “I just think that you’re honestly just gonna have to watch. But still be worried about the long-distance thing working out or not working out.”
