One woman can’t sustain a man’s passion – Delta billionaire who just married 19th wife

For Chief Jite Tesigimoje, polygamy is not a lifestyle of excess; it is, in his words, a practical truth of human nature. His household is a microcosm of Nigeria’s diversity. He is married to women from nearly all the major ethnic groups-Igbo, Yoruba, Bini, Ijaw, Fulani, Urhobo, Isoko, and his own Itsekiri. To him, it is a reflection of unity and inclusiveness.

‘Every man wants to marry two or three wives if he has the capacity,’ he said without hesitation.

‘The reality is this: after a few years of marriage, a man begins to see his wife differently. He sees her naked from time to time-when she is going into the bathroom and when she comes out and perfects her beauty routines.

‘Familiarity sets in, passion fades, and intimacy becomes more like a duty. That is why you hear women complain their husbands no longer love them like before when they just got married.

‘It is not that the love is gone; it is that desire has been dulled by routine.’

He advised couples in monogamous relationships to live apart. ‘If they cannot afford different apartments, they should live in separate rooms.’

He gestured towards one of his wives who sat beside him throughout the conversation, saying: ‘She is listening and smiling. She knows what I am saying is true.

‘She is stunningly beautiful, just like the others. But if she were the only woman in my house, things would be different.

‘Men don’t talk about this openly, but I will. No matter how beautiful a woman is, one woman alone cannot sustain a man’s passion forever.’

His argument is not a dismissal of women but a critique of Western ideals. ‘Our colonial masters told us monogamy is the best way of life. Yet those same people are caught daily in scandals, with mistresses, colleagues, even staff members.

‘Why sneak around? Why live in lies? If you admire another woman, marry her. That is better than deceit.’

Tradition and the role of privacy

Chief Tesigimoje links his views not only to personal experience but also to cultural tradition. ‘In our culture, there is mystery between husband and wife,’ he explained.

‘When you share the same room, wake up and see everything about your wife every single day, where is the excitement?

‘When you start to see her as a sibling, that spark is gone. And incest, as our tradition teaches, is a taboo.

‘So why push a man into a life where his wife feels like a sister? Distance and privacy keep the love alive.’

This is where polygamy, in his view, plays a balancing role. ‘When a man has two or three wives, he creates space. He comes to each one renewed, excited, and appreciative. That freshness keeps love burning.

‘I can tell you confidently that many women in polygamous homes are more sexually satisfied than their monogamous counterparts.

‘But let us continue to deceive ourselves and build up angry and frustrated women, which will eventually lead to more divorces.’

The demands of a polygamous household

Though he champions polygamy, Tesigimoje admits that marrying more than one wife is not meant for everyone. ‘Polygamy is cheap only in theory. In reality, it requires enormous financial strength and emotional intelligence.

‘It would be suicidal for someone to dabble into polygamy simply because he sees someone else, or because I am doing well in it. You must ask yourself some questions, and one of those is: are you capable?’

Providing insight into the enormous cost he bears in keeping everyone happy and comfortable, Tesigimoje said: ‘In Lagos, I live in Eko Atlantic City and have 15 houses. Each of my wives lives in a five-bedroom duplex, and they all receive hefty allowances and other perks regularly.

‘That is why, when I am in Warri, we can all stay together under one roof peacefully, with some of the wives sharing rooms without any grudges.’

He reiterated that fairness and equity are the backbone of his successful management of his home. ‘Once I do something for one wife, everyone must get the same treatment. Whether you are the youngest, the oldest, or yet to have any child, you get your due.

‘Let me give you an example: yesterday (a day before the interview), I sent some of my wives ?250,000 each for outings with their children.

‘Within minutes, every one of them had heard about it. Those who didn’t get theirs called me to demand answers.

‘I got calls from Abuja and Lagos, while those who were in Warri and yet to get their alerts stormed into my room. They had already heard!

‘Before the day ended, I spent about ?3 million on ice cream. That is polygamy. You cannot afford to neglect anyone.’

Honesty, keyUnitunity in the home

Contrary to outsiders’ assumptions, the billionaire business mogul revealed that his household thrives on cooperation, not rivalry.

‘At my last wedding, all my wives came dressed in the same attire. They danced, they laughed, and they welcomed the new bride. Can you imagine that?

‘If there wasn’t unity, they would not have been there, smiling.

‘People often think polygamy breeds jealousy, but if you are honest from the start, your home can be harmonious.

‘So, even in sharing my bed, my wives are cooperative.

‘There is an order as to who comes into the master’s bedroom, but the cooperation of the women makes it even more seamless.’

While hinting at wife No. 20 soon, he warned men against deception. ‘Do not promise a woman or give her the impression that she will be the only one if you plan otherwise.

‘If your heart is set on five or six wives, say it from the start. Once she accepts, she will be at peace with it.

‘Problems only come when men pretend. My wives know that I love women, and this (19th wife) might not be the last.’

Strength, fitness and tradition in coping with the demands of 19 wives

Asked how he manages the physical and emotional energy required for such a large family, the billionaire laughed heartily. ‘Sex is the best exercise-better than any gym. It keeps blood flowing, strengthens the body, and prolongs life.

‘Western diets and drugs weaken men. In our tradition, we have herbs that keep a man virile all his life, no matter how long he lives.

‘My father is almost 90, and he recently impregnated two women. Virility runs in the family, and I rely on our roots to keep me strong.

‘Having many wives and failing to satisfy them would be an abomination.

‘Those who have tried my roots and herbs, including traditional leaders and friends, can confirm that I have some of the best herbal roots in the land (laughs).’

Beyond family: A heart for humanity

Despite his colorful personal life, Tesigimoje insists his legacy must be measured not only by his marriages but also by his enormous philanthropy. He recently launched the GIM Brown Foundation to streamline his charitable activities, which escalated during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the lockdown, he supported widows, orphans, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups. Today, more than 800 widows are on his payroll, as well as hundreds of other PWDs.

‘Everything I have is by God’s grace, not my strength. How do I repay Him? I can only do that by helping those who are less fortunate.

‘My advice to wealthy Nigerians is: if you have the capacity to uplift others, do not hold back, because the government alone cannot solve the myriad of problems in our society.’

As for his community of Ajudaibo, Escravos, he revealed his plan to kick off an 83-suite hotel, as part of his drive to bring development and opportunity home.

‘I love my wives, my children, and my people.

‘This is the life I have chosen. It is not for every man. It requires honesty, responsibility, and strength.

‘But with God’s grace, I have managed it. And I will continue to use what I have, not just for my family, but for my community and for humanity.’

Journalist’s arrest sparks outrage

The arrest and detention of Media Room Hub publisher, Azuka Ogujiuba, by the Nigerian Police Force has ignited widespread outrage among journalists, human rights advocates and press freedom groups.

Ogujiuba, a veteran journalist and former ThisDay reporter, was invited by officers of the Nigerian Police Force at the Asokoro Division Headquarters in Abuja on August 6.

She honored the invitation, flying in with her legal representative.

However, after being tracked for days, she was eventually picked up and allegedly whisked away without a warrant, ‘like a criminal,’ and unlawfully detained for three days.

According to Ogujiuba, who said she had been invited by the office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), alleged to have been maltreated.

Police authorities said her arrest followed a petition filed by businessman Adewale Oladapo, popularly known as Biggie, who accused her of cyberbullying and defamation.

But Ogujiuba insisted that the real reason for her ordeal was her outlet’s publication of a court injunction in an ongoing multi-billion-naira land dispute in Lagos, a ruling that did not favor Oladapo.

Africa agriculture forum to hold in Abuja

The Africa Agriculture Dialogue 2025 is set to take place on October 7 and 8 at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigeria.

It aims to spotlight Africa’s agricultural priorities and elevate the continent’s voice on the global stage, serving as a precursor to the prestigious World Food Prize that will hold in the United States.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Livestock Development, Idris Ajimobi, emphasised that the Federal Government is intensifying its efforts to transform Nigeria’s livestock sector-a critical pillar for food security, employment generation, and economic diversification. These efforts, he said, are being spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development (FMLD).

A cornerstone of this transformation, he noted, is the recent launch of the National Livestock Master Plan (N-LMP), a five-year strategic investment framework. Developed in collaboration with the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) and international partners, the plan seeks to attract public and private investments into key livestock value chains, including cattle, poultry, and small ruminants.

According to Ajimobi, it also outlines targeted interventions in animal breeding, health services, and market access.

He noted that the government is actively promoting the development of ranches and integrated crop-livestock settlements as part of efforts to move away from traditional nomadic grazing.

‘This transition to sedentary farming systems is not just about improving productivity,’ he said, ‘it is also a deliberate strategy to reduce conflict over grazing land.’

To improve the safety and traceability of livestock products, Ajimobi revealed that the ministry is implementing a national mass animal tagging programme, aiming to identify and track millions of animals across the country. ‘This, along with enhanced veterinary services and the control of transboundary pests, is expected to significantly improve animal health standards and help Nigeria meet international export requirements.’

In addition, he highlighted the government’s focus on reducing poverty and creating jobs-particularly for youth and women-through targeted training and support programmes.

Nigeria’s hosting of the Africa Agriculture Dialogue, he explained, would be a recognition of the ‘profound steps’ taken by the current administration to revamp the agricultural sector from a policy standpoint.

Embedded Adviser on Agriculture at the African Development Bank (AfDB), Richard Mbaram, also praised the government’s commitment to agricultural transformation under President Bola Tinubu. Mbaram said the administration has ‘moved beyond rhetoric’ and is now executing ‘ambitious programmes and policies with the potential to fundamentally transform our agricultural landscape.’

According to Mbaram, the government’s declaration of a state of emergency on food security marked a turning point in the nation’s agricultural history. ‘The declaration was not just a symbolic gesture,’ he said. ‘It was a clear signal that the government views a secure food system as essential to national stability. They are not merely scratching the surface; they are building a new foundation from the ground up.’

Osun APC reinstated LGA chairmen to recall1,500 sacked workers

The All Progressives Congress (APC) reinstated local government area chairmen have vowed to recall over 1,500 sacked workers and offset the traditional rulers’ salary arrears once the Federal Government releases the withheld council allocation.

The Nation recalls that federal government had withheld the council allocation since February 2025 when members of APC and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were laying claim to the control of the council following a verdict of the Appeal Court.

Meanwhile, the federal government in September released six month withheld allocations to the council accounts opened by the LGAs’ chairmen of the APC.

The Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Abiodun Idowu, of the APC faction, reaffirmed the commitment of the council chairmen to grassroots governance.

He affirmed that ‘the legally recognised APC-led local government executives remain the authentic administrators of the 30 local governments and the area office in the state.

‘The mandate was freely given to us by the people in October 2022, which was temporarily interrupted by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration before being restored by the Court of Appeal on February 10, 2025,’ he said.

Idowu said that ‘plans are ongoing to recall and re-engage the 1,500 teachers employed by the last APC government of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola but sacked by the present administration.

‘We will also recall the dismissed health workers, O’YES cadets, and O’Meal vendors.

‘Beyond recalling them, we will offset part of their salaries and emoluments.

‘This is a policy statement, not politics.’

He also assured that traditional rulers in the state would benefit, as arrangements had been concluded to clear the arrears of salaries owed them by the state government.

National Assembly management raises the alarm over plot to disrupt legislative activities

The management of the National Assembly has raised the alarm over plot by some staff to disrupt legislative activities upon resumption of plenary on Tuesday.

Some ‘Concerned’ Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) members’ have served a notice of peaceful picketing of the complex beginning from Tuesday October 7, 2025.

Senators and House of Representatives members are expected to resume plenary session on Tuesday after their eight week annual vacation.

But executive of the PASAN, National Assembly Chapter, have dissociated the union from the planned picketing/protest being organised some of its members.

The management of the National Assembly said the planned picketing apart from its potential to disrupt legislative activities would constitute a threat to national security.

Secretary, Human Resources and Staff Development, Essien Eyo Essien, who disclosed this in an internal circular, he issued on behalf of the Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Kamoru Ogunlana, called on all staff to ignore any ‘calls for industrial action, including ‘work-to-rule’ or ‘unlawful picketing.’

He equally enjoined the ‘Concerned PASAN Members’ to refrain from proceeding with their planned protest, ‘as failure to do so may result in severe disciplinary action.’

The circular reads in part: ‘The Management attention has been drawn to the online activities of Messrs Odo Chris (GL 13, Senate) and Abiola Yusuf Mohammed (GL 9, Human Resources Directorate) that appear to be collaborating with anonymous individuals within and outside the National Assembly, masquerading as ‘Concerned PASAN MEMBERS.’

‘Security report at our disposal disclose that these persons are mobilising and inciting staff to engage in an unlawful action termed ‘picketing.’

‘If this plan is carried out, it is capable of disrupting legislative activities which in our opinion constitutes threat to National security.

‘According to reports, these persons claim that their agitation is aimed at compelling the Management to disband the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (NASS Chapter) and to improve staff welfare.

‘It is important to clarify that this agitation has persisted for years and has been characterized by disruptive behaviour, misinformation, and deliberate attempts to destabilize our internal harmony.

‘Despite repeated engagements with these persons by the present Management to resolve their concerns, (which has to do with internal union-related issues), amicably, all efforts have been rebuffed under the pretext that Management should not interfere in Union activities.

‘These same group and their cohorts, under the guise of ‘Concerned PASAN Members,’ have persistently authored frivolous petitions, alleging mismanagement of union dues and other unsubstantiated claims.

‘Management is concerned that the tolerance of these persons over the years has given the impression that they can take laws into their hands without any consequence.

‘If they are allowed to continue their illegal activities including their planned ‘picketing’ of National Assembly, the resumption of the National Assembly on the 7th of October and legislative activities may be disrupted.

‘In light of recent developments, the Management hereby instruct all Staff to ignore any calls for industrial action, including ‘work-to-rule’ or ‘unlawful picketing.

‘Your safety and security within the National Assembly Complex are assured and we urge you to proceed with your official duties without any fear or intimidation.

‘On this note, the Management directs the self-styled ‘Concerned PASAN Members’ to refrain from proceeding with their planned protest, as failure to do so may result in severe disciplinary action.’

However, in a letter titled: ‘Notifications of peaceful picketing’ signed by Comrade Chris MC-Odo, Comrade Yusuf Muhammad Abiola and Comrade Chinenye Peace Ndu, and addressed to the CNA, dated October 3, 2025, the Concerned PASAN Members vowed to carry out their planned picketing of the complex to drive home their demands.

They said that the picketing has become necessary to communicate their demands to the political leadership of the National Assembly and the world.

They listed some of their demands to include correction of short payments of members salaries and allowances, remittance of statutory deductions to appropriate authorities, alleged diversion of funds for training and retraining of all members of staff, full implementation of Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS), and the full implementation of the financial aspect of the Conditions of Service (CoS) in the National Assembly Service.

Others include the implementation of the 40% consolidated peculiar allowance from January 2023 till date as approved by former President Muhammadu Buhari, for the Federal Public and Civil servants, among others.

The letter reads in part: ‘Aggrieved by your actions and inaction as enumerated above, we members of PASAN National Assembly Chapter in exercise of our rights under Section 39 and 40 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As amended) and Section 43(1) of the Trade Union Act, 2004, hereby convey to you our notification to peacefully picket the National Assembly beginning from Tuesday 7th October, 2025, with a view to communicating our demands to the political leadership and for the entire world to know the extent of your oppressive and tendencies.’

However, the executive of the PASAN, National Assembly Chapter, has dissociated the union from the planned picketing/protest being organised some of its members.

The Chairman of PASAN, Comrade Sunday Sabiyyi, made this known in a statement in Abuja.

The statement reads in part: ‘I am writing on behalf of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) to dissociate our Union from the picketing/protest that is purportedly being planned, as published on a WhatsApp Platform named, NASS Forum.

‘We would like to make it clear that PASAN, as the only registered and legitimate staff union in the National Assembly, is not in any way involved in the organisation of this protest.

‘We have received information that this group of individuals plans to picket/protest within the National Assembly complex, raising issues that they claim have not been addressed by the management.

‘We would like to state that the issues in question have been substantially complied with by the Management of the National Assembly.

‘In addition, PASAN has set up a committee to look into the grey arrears and present a report for further action. This committee is actively discussing with the management to resolve any outstanding issues.

‘Therefore, we strongly advise all PASAN members to remain on their duty post and go about their legitimate business within the complex.

‘We do not support or condone any form of protest or picketing that disrupts the functioning of the National Assembly. Such actions only serve to create a negative image of our esteemed institution and hinder the smooth operation of our duties.

‘We trust that the National Assembly management will take necessary measures to investigate and ensure that protest and picketing by the so called ‘Concerned Staff’ group is not allowed to take place within the premises of the National Assembly complex.

‘We also urge the management to communicate this message to all staff members, emphasising the need to uphold the dignity and professionalism of our institution.’

Kalu appeals to Tinubu for seaport in South East

The Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Ben Kalu, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to grant the South Easterners a seaport to enhance trade in the region.

Kalu made the request on Friday, in a speech at a reception held at the Enyimba International Stadium in honour of Tinubu after he had inaugurated some projects in Abia.

‘Mr President, we want to thank you for what you are doing in our state through our governor and what you are doing around the south East.

‘But I must say it is about time that we had another sea port in the South East; South Easterners are mainly traders and We need a sea port to enhance our trading.

‘I also want to say that the destruction and the demolition of the houses, the offices of our brothers in Lagos makes our hearts bleed,’ he said.

Kalu pleaded with the president to speak with the Lagos State governor to allow the Igbo people whose houses have not been destroyed already to regularize their documents.

He said that destruction at this time of hardship makes the hearts of victims bleed, stressing that the need for an amicable resolution rather than destruction of property.

Kalu said governance is about partnership hence the state must partner the federal government and the federal government must partner the state.

He said although he is an All Progressives Congress (APC) party member, it is his character to support the governors of his state to ensure the state succeeded and promised to support Alex Otti to succeed.

‘I have gone with him from the morning, visiting all the projects till this evening and I have seen the state’s projects carried out by the governor and for that we commend him.

‘But as a member and citizen of this state, I request, like Oliver Twist, that the governor should do more,’ he said.

He thanked the president for his assistance in the projects in Abia and urged the Abia Information Commissioner and media houses in Abia to accord Tinubu his merited credits.

Kalu said this would induce the president to do more for the state and the South East which he had shown love to.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs sentenced to more than four years in prison

The hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was sentenced to more than four years in prison on Friday for his conviction on prostitution-related charges.

Prosecutors had sought 11 years behind bars for Combs but Judge Arun Subramanian handed down a 50-month sentence after an emotional daylong court hearing.

Combs’s lawyers had urged the judge to sentence the 55-year-old hip-hop star to 14 months, which would effectively have been time served since he has been incarcerated in Brooklyn for more than a year.

Addressing the court before the judge handed down the sentence, Combs said he was ‘truly sorry’ for his actions and asked the judge for ‘another chance.’

‘I ask your honour for mercy,’ he said. ‘I beg your honour for mercy.’

Diddy Combs was acquitted by a jury in July of the most serious charges against him – sex trafficking and racketeering – but convicted of two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution.

Combs’s former girlfriend Casandra Ventura submitted a letter to the judge asking him to consider ‘the many lives that Sean Combs has upended with his abuse and control.’

Ventura, the 39-year-old singer known as Cassie, described in wrenching detail the physical, emotional and sexual abuse she suffered while in a more than decade-long relationship with Combs.

Ventura and another woman, identified as Jane, said they were coerced into performing so-called ‘freak offs’: sexual marathons with hired men that Combs directed and sometimes filmed.

‘The entire courtroom watched actual footage of Combs kicking and beating me as I tried to run away from a freak off in 2016,’ Ventura wrote.

She said she has nightmares and flashbacks ‘on a regular, everyday basis.’

Ventura said she and her family had left the New York area for fear of ‘retribution’ from Combs if he is released.

Speaking before the sentencing, prosecutor Christy Slavik said Combs has not accepted responsibility for his actions.

‘His remorse was qualified. It’s as though he thinks the law doesn’t apply to him,’ Slavik said.

Slavik said Combs had booked speaking engagements in Miami next week in anticipation of a light sentence, which she called ‘the height of hubris.’

Arguing for a lesser sentence, Nicole Westmoreland, one of Combs’s lawyers, called him an ‘inspiration’ to the Black community and a social justice crusader.

‘No, Combs is not larger than life,’ she said. ‘He’s just a human being. He’s made mistakes.’

Combs’s six adult children each delivered an emotional plea on their father’s behalf, with the eldest Quincy Brown calling him ‘a changed man.’

‘Please, please give our family the chance to heal together,’ said one of his daughters, D’Lila Combs. ‘Not as headlines but as human beings.’
