5. ‘Chad Powers’ (2025)

Glen Powell is all-in on this show as a co-creator and the leading actor. Powell plays Russ Holliday, a college football quarterback who destroyed his dreams of NFL stardom thanks to some horrible decisions that made him a national pariah.

Years later, Russ decides he wants to give college football another try. To do so, he’s assumed a fake identity as Chad Powers and even applied prosthetics to his face and nose. Russ is going to have a lot of trouble maintaining his cover as Chad, and even greater difficulties trying to keep up with college athletes who are younger and stronger than he is.

Chad Powers is streaming on Hulu.

4. ‘All’s Fair’ (2025)

Ryan Murphy‘s new legal drama is getting a lot of attention because it’s placing Kim Kardashian as the lead in her own show. Whether Kardashian can carry the series remains to be seen, but she’ll have a lot of help from her A-list costars, including Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor and Glenn Close.

Glen Powell Is Unrecognizable in ‘Chad Powers’ Football Series: What to Know

Kardashian plays Allura Grant, the leader of a group of female divorce attorneys who have left a male-dominated firm behind to start their own practice. These women can be just as ruthless in the courtroom as their male counterparts, and they won’t necessarily stay on the same page forever. Their new firm has power struggles of its own, and this team may not be above stabbing each other in the back.

All’s Fair will stream on Hulu on November 4, 2025.

3. ‘Murdaugh: Death in the Family’ (2025)

Jason Clarke and Patricia Arquette play Alex and Maggie Murdaugh, a powerful couple whose life of wealth and privilege is built on a house of cards. That house starts crumbling down when their son, Paul Murdaugh (Johnny Berchtold), is involved in a deadly accident that invites wider scrutiny of the family. Alex will do anything to protect the family’s secrets, or more accurately, his own secrets. And the story only gets wilder from there.

Some supernatural force has locked Miles and Kiara inside their house, and nothing they try seems to get them any closer to escape. It’s as if they’re invisible to people standing outside of their home as they shout for help. But the only people who can get Kiara and Miles out of their personal Hell are each other. And that’s going to take some work.

Stay is now streaming on Hulu.

If Caitlyn wants to salvage the life she’s built with her family, then she needs to figure out how she can fight back without making herself look even worse to her loved ones.

Mormon Wives’ Mayci Neeley Shares 10-Year-Old Son’s Reaction During Sex Talk

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mayci Neeley quickly learned how to best discuss the birds and the bees with her 10-year-old son, Hudson.

“He just found out what sex is, like, he’s at that age,” Mayci, 30, said on the Sunday, October 12, episode of the “Sunday Sports Club” podcast. “We had to give him the talk, and I’m like, ‘You are not reading [my] book [until you’re 18].’”

Mayci found out she was pregnant with Hudson at just 19 years old, shortly before her ex-boyfriend and Hudson’s birth father, Arik Mack, died in a car accident. Mayci later married Jacob Neeley, who eventually adopted Hudson. (Mayci and Jacob also share two daughters.)

“When we gave him the sex talk, the thing that he was so upset about was that, ‘I came from a different dad ‘cause you had sex with someone else,’” the MomTok influencer recalled of Hudson’s response. “He found that out, and he was so stunned. He asked my husband, ‘Why did you marry her?’”

Where ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Stars Stand With the Church

According to Mayci, she and Jacob, 30, only gave Hudson the “basic” sex talk.

“He had the basic one, where it’s, like, ‘You have sex to make a baby.’ So, he realized, ‘That’s how I was made,’” she told podcast host Allison Kuch. “Then, he was like, ‘Dad, why did you marry her [if] she did that and had a baby.’ [Kids have] no filter [and] no shame.”

Mayci detailed more of her story in her recently released memoir, Told You So, including how she navigated Arik’s death amid her pregnancy.

“It was the hardest thing in my entire life. The grieving process was so intense,” Mayci exclusively told Us Weekly earlier in October. “There were so many things I wish I would have said, so many regrets of what I said before he passed and so many things I wish I could say or ask him about now. It’s given me a lot of anxiety in my current life. If my husband doesn’t respond within a certain amount of time. I’m like, ‘Did he get in a crash? Are my kids OK?’ I get so freaked out.”

She continued, “I was so, so depressed. … I never thought of really doing anything to hurt myself because I knew it would crush my family — and having my baby in my belly. I knew it wasn’t an option.”

Mayci also told Us how growing up a member of the Mormon church affected her pregnancy overall.

“Those are definitely against the guidelines in the church. I did feel a lot of guilt because we’re taught that sex outside of marriage is like a sin next to murder,” she said. “It’s all the shame and guilt you feel from your upbringing. Then I got into a really religious space once my son’s father passed away because I had to make sense of it.”

Mayci further explained why she chose to “turn toward” religion even more in light of Arik’s death.

“I chose to turn toward it because I needed it to make sense. As far as now goes, I feel like I’m somewhat in the middle,” the reality TV star said of her relationship with the Church of Latter-Day Saints. “I’ve always been someone who’s kind of in the middle. The things that I focus on — at least in my religion — is my relationship with God and being a good person. That is what matters, and making sure my kids feel love and become good people too.”

Pace of economic reforms, too slow to tackle rising poverty – LCCI

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has described the pace at which the present economic reforms are being implemented, as too slow to tackle the rising poverty levels, in Nigeria, and deliver the much-needed structural transformation needed in the economy.

Director-General of the Chamber, Dr. Chinyere Almona, stated this while reacting to the World Bank’s recently-released Nigeria Development Update (NDU) 2025.

The Chamber, while aligning with the report which underscored the urgent need for Nigeria to accelerate economic reforms and tackle rising poverty levels, argued that it had become imperative for the federal government to act fast, if Nigeria is to reap the gains of the reforms, restore investor confidence, stimulate sustainable growth, and improve living standards.

It argued that while the government had taken commendable steps in fiscal and monetary policy management, the slow pace of the reform implementation would not guarantee the structural transformation needed in the economy.

LCCI, therefore, called on the government to prioritize massive investment in agricultural value chains, agro-processing, and rural infrastructure to enhance productivity and ensure food security.

It added that reducing import dependence and supporting farmers with access to credit, inputs, and technology, would go a long way in bringing down food inflation and strengthening the nation’s currency, the naira.

The business advocacy group also urged the federal government to urgently address the twin issues of high cost of electricity and fuel, which, it argued, had continued to cripple industries and small businesses, in the country.

‘LCCI also calls for urgent action to expand domestic energy generation, accelerate power sector reforms, and incentivize the adoption of renewable energy to make energy more affordable and reliable for manufacturers and households.

‘The crisis of uncertainties and supply disruptions in the oil and gas sector is damaging and should be resolved. The regulators need to be more dynamic and make all stakeholders strictly follow the industry code of conduct,’ it counselled.

While expressing confidence in the reform potential, and cautious optimism about its achievements so far, the Chamber urged the government to focus on the core areas of producing and supplying more food, working on the dynamics of local refining capacity to lower the cost of energy, and continuing with the reforms in the FOREX market for sustained stability.

It also argued that cutting down on the cost of governance, and reactivating the fight against insecurity, through more funding and better use of advanced security technology and intelligence, would go a long way in enhancing the fortunes of the economy.

Nigeria has less than 300 psychiatrists to tackle mental health effects of catastrophes, emergencies, expert says

On this year’s World Mental Health Day, Dr Shina Fakunle, a psychiatrist, has stated that Nigeria has fewer than 300 psychiatrists to address the mental, emotional and psychological effects of its ongoing crises, which include devastating floods, armed conflicts and disease outbreaks.

Dr Fakunle, a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Ring Road State Hospital, spoke at the 2025 World Mental Health Day event, themed ‘Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies’.

The event was organised by the Oyo State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Asido Foundation, PAMHI Foundation, and New World Specialist Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre, Ibadan.

According to him, mental health is a critical component of emergency preparedness, response, and recovery that is often overlooked during catastrophes, although its neglect can lead to long-term mental health conditions such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance misuse, and even suicide.

Dr Fakunle stated that despite the urgency, access to mental health services remains dangerously inadequate because mental health services are severely under-resourced in Nigeria and, indeed, in many parts of Africa.

He added, ‘In Oyo State, we face challenges such as stigma, a shortage of trained professionals, poor funding, and limited integration of mental health services into primary care and emergency response systems.’

‘Fewer than 300 psychiatrists serve a population of over 200 million. Yet, despite the urgency, access to mental health services remains dangerously inadequate.

‘In recent years, our world has witnessed a rising tide of catastrophes-from natural disasters and pandemics to conflict, displacement, and economic crises.

‘While much attention is rightly given to physical infrastructure and emergency response, we too often overlook the invisible wounds these events leave behind: the emotional, psychological, and mental toll.

‘Mental health is not a luxury reserved for peaceful times; it is a critical component of emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.

‘During catastrophes, people face grief, trauma, displacement, loss of livelihood, and uncertainty. If left unaddressed, these challenges can lead to long-term mental health conditions such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance misuse, and even suicide.’

Oyo State Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Oyo Health Ministry, Dr Akintunde Ayinde, stated that mental health during catastrophes and emergencies are often overlooked, even though psychological wounds may persist far longer than physical ones.

According to her, mental health must be integrated into our emergency preparedness, resilience, and recovery strategies, and Oyo State is soon to inaugurate the State Mental Health Working Group to spearhead the development of mental health emergency protocols, psychological first aid training, rapid response teams, and integration with the state’s disaster and epidemic response systems.

Earlier, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Asido Foundation, Professor Jibril Abdulmalik, stated that eight out of every 10 Nigerians with a mental disorder are unable to receive treatment in Nigeria and asked that the government prioritize mental health.

Prof Abdulmalik stated, ‘We cannot have a hospital and claim to offer healthcare while neglecting one-third of the definition of health, which is mental health. The government needs to prioritize it, allocate funding, and employ qualified personnel to manage it effectively.

‘Universal health coverage for mental health begins with recognizing the problem, creating accessible spaces for care, guiding individuals on where to seek help, and eliminating stigma.’

Director of Operations at the New World Specialist Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre, Mr Olufunmbi Lasebikan, emphasised the importance of individuals with mental health challenges seeking medical attention early and promptly.

According to him, one in every five people worldwide has a mental health condition, and so access to mental health care should not be overlooked, especially given the psychological toll of ongoing emergencies and catastrophes in Nigeria.

’Continue to make Nigeria proud,’ Tinubu praises son, Seyi, at 40

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his son, Seyi Tinubu, on his 40th birthday, praising his achievements, values, and contributions to nation-building.

In a heartfelt message personally signed by the President on Sunday, Tinubu expressed gratitude to God for his son’s life and the man he has become.

‘Today, as you turn forty, I thank Almighty God for your life and the man you have become. You have walked your path with focus, courage, and humility, and you have done so with a heart that seeks to build, serve, and uplift others.’

Tinubu described Seyi as a man of determination and leadership, recalling his early drive to create and make meaningful impact.

‘From an early age, you have shown determination and a desire to create and lead. I have watched you turn ideas into institutions and challenges into opportunities. In business and in service, you have shown that true success is not measured by wealth or power but by the impact we make and the lives we touch,’ he stated.

Reflecting on the significance of turning 40, Tinubu noted that it represents a balance between youthful energy and the maturity that comes with age.

‘Forty is a special age. It bridges youthful drive and the more profound wisdom that life brings. You have carried your name with honour and have remained faithful to the values of discipline, integrity, and hard work,’ he wrote.

He further lauded Seyi’s devotion to his family and his sense of responsibility as a husband and father.

‘Our entire family is proud of you. We are proud of the family you are building with Layal, your devotion as a husband and father, and your commitment to making a difference in your generation.

‘As you celebrate this milestone, remember that your strength lies in what you achieve and how you inspire others to believe in themselves. May God bless you with wisdom, good health, and peace.

‘Happy 40th Birthday, my son. You have made us proud, and I know you will continue to make Nigeria proud.’
