Fair weather conditions with chances of rainshowers are forecast across the country on Friday as the southwest monsoon or habagat weakens, according to the state weather bureau.
In the 5 a.m. weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, weather specialist Obet Badrina said that while southwest monsoon continues to affect Luzon, its weakening will prevail until Saturday.
‘Sa Luzon, inaasahan ang maulap na kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan, pagkidlat, at pagkulog sa may Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Apayao, Batanes (In Luzon, we expect cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Apayao, Batanes),’ Badrina said.
He said that the rest of Luzon will experience localized thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon. Meanwhile, Visayas and Mindanao will also see generally fair weather with chances of localized rainshowers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
He also shared that no gale warning is raised in any seaboards of the country.

Weather disturbances outside the country
Badrina said that Tropical Storm Saudel outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) was last estimated 2,735 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon. It may enter the country between Sunday and Monday and may enhance once again the southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, a low pressure area (LPA) outside the PAR has a ‘medium’ chance of developing into a tropical depression. It was last located 1,700 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao.
He added that the LPA will not enter the PAR and will not affect the country once it strengthens into a tropical depression.
