Son and two daughters of alleged crime boss Kok An registered as born to Roi Et couple

The Interior Ministry has revoked the Thai citizenship of a son and two daughters of Kok An, a notorious Cambodian senator allegedly linked to crimes from gambling to human trafficking, money laundering and online scams.
The ministry’s Department of Provincial Administration said on Thursday that evidence showed the three — Kittisak, Phu Cherlin and Juree Klongkitkol — had illegally obtained citizenship through a couple who were not their biological parents.
The couple registered the births of the three in Phon Thong district of Roi Et province. Mr Kittisak was registered as born on Sept 9, 1977; Ms Phu Cherlin on April 11, 1979; and Ms Juree on May 15, 1983, according to Thai PBS.
The department did not name the couple but media reports earlier had identified them as Boonlieng and his wife, Amphai. They registered the births of Kok An’s children between May and June 1990, claiming that the three were not born in hospitals.
An assistant to the Phon Thong district chief was the only official registering the documents and he died in 2017, according to Thai PBS.
The department said the home addresses of Mr Kittisak, Ms Phu Cherlin and Ms Juree were in Prawet district of Bangkok and their household registration was also annulled.
Kok An’s son and daughters are believed to have fled the country before police raided their offices and houses in several locations in Bangkok and other provinces in July of this year.
The department said the household registration of Kok An, 71, was also revoked. He also remains at large outside the country.
Last month, the government revoked the citizenship of the Cambodian businessman and senator Phat Suphapa, a naturalised Thai national accused of involvement in illicit activities. His Cambodian name is Ly Yong Phat.
Kok An and Ly Yong Phat have close connections with Cambodian Senate President and former prime minister Hun Sen.
