LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Peter Mutharika has appointed Roza Mbilizi as the new Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development.

The appointment places Mbilizi at the helm of one of Malawi’s most critical ministries, which oversees food production, irrigation development, and water resource management.

Mbilizi, known for her administrative and leadership experience, is expected to steer the agricultural sector toward enhanced productivity and sustainable growth.

In the same statement, President Mutharika also appointed George Patridge as the Minister of Industrialization, Business, Trade and Tourism.

According to a media statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet, the appointments were announced through a communiqué signed by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Justin Saidi.
