Nec head coach Hussein Mbalangu has been sacked by the club after two years in charge and two weeks after he was suspended by the club for what they described as professional and ethical misconduct.
The writing has been on the wall for Mbalangu after the team suffered a Caf Confederation Cup first round elimination at the hands of Nairobi United.
This was in addition to a slow start in the league that saw the team collect two points from the opening three league games.
The last straw in a strained relationship is believed to have come from what insiders think was divided attention owing to his close relationship working with Ssingo in the Masaza Cup.
Mbalangalu guided the club to a fourth place finish and to the final of the Uganda Cup in their maiden season in the topflight league in 2024.
He also presided over a second place finish in the league season finishing just two points behind champions Vipers.
Despite such results his position remained under constant threat like when the team suffered a round of 32 elimination in the Uganda Cup at the hands of Big League side Blacks Power.
Mbalangu recently stated in a recent television interview that he faced constant interference from an official over team selection.
James odoch, Mbalangu’s hitherto assistant has been in charge of the team since the latter’s suspension and presided over the 1-0 win over Mbarara at the weekend although the club have stated a permanent announcement shall be announced soon.
