Minister of Health Michalis Damianos departs on Monday for Brussels, where he will participate in the meeting of the European Union (EU) Health Ministers’ Council, EPSCO-Health, which will take place on Tuesday, 2 December. According to an official announcement, during his participation he will present the main files of the initiatives of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in the field of health.
On the same day, Damianos will hold bilateral meetings with the European Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare, as well as with the Director-General of the Directorate-General for Health of the European Commission, focusing on coordination ahead of Cyprus assuming the Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026.
During his stay in Brussels, the Minister will also hold a series of contacts with Members of the European Parliament, members of the Public Health Committee of the European Parliament, as well as with the Chair of the Public Health Committee, Adam Sebastian Jarubas.
At the same time, he will participate in training sessions and meetings at the level of the Permanent Representation and the Secretariat of the Council of the EU, as part of preparations for the start of the Cypriot Presidency in January 2026.
