The Cyprus News Agency is a valuable and constant source of information for the Greek Embassy, said the Greek Ambassador to Cyprus, Konstantinos Kollias, who visited the agency’s offices on Tuesday.
During his visit to CNA, Kollias had a courtesy meeting with the Chairman of the CNA Board of Directors, Andreas Frangos, and the agency’s Director, Dinos Phinicarides.
In statements after the meeting, the CNA Board of Directors Chairman said that he had the ‘honour and pleasure of welcoming the Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus, Konstantinos Kollias, to the offices of the Cyprus News Agency’, to whom, as he said, he explained the role and importance of the mission carried out by CNA and stressed ‘the importance of reliable information for the public, in a world full of misinformation and distortion of the facts.”
“We are at the disposal of the Greek Embassy to further strengthen our cooperation within the framework of the Agency’s mission, and I thanked him again for the honour he has bestowed upon us by visiting (CNA) today, together with the Embassy’s General Communications Counsellor, Ms. Kapagianni”, he added.
The Greek Ambassador thanked Frangos and Phinicarides “for the comprehensive information on the daily operations, active journalism, and news coverage of the Cyprus News Agency.”
CNA, the Greek Ambassador continued, is a valuable and constant source of information for the Greek Embassy, “which is not just another source, but a valid and reliable partnership that we have, and I have asked the President to continue this partnership, which will happen.”
“Of course, all this comes on top of Greece’s excellent and long-standing cooperation with Cyprus in the field of information,” he noted.
The cornerstone of this cooperation, he added, “is the Cyprus News Agency together with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.”
“We will therefore continue in this manner of cooperation, considering that the Greek Embassy in Nicosia is also your partner and that you are an absolutely daily, useful, and indispensable partner of ours. Thank you very much for your cooperation,” he concluded.
