Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited Friday warned people to be aware of a fraudulent on line post and questionnaire faslely claiming to be a Christmas gift from the financial institutiuon and offering GUY$600,000 (One Guyana dollar=US$0.004 cents).
‘This post is a SCAM and is NOT from Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited,’ the bank said in a statement, urging customers and others ‘to be extremely vigilant’.
It is also urging people not to click on any links, fill out forms or provide personal and or banking information top unverified posts or websites.
‘Republic Bank will NEVER ask for your sensitive banking details or passwords through unsolicited link, email, or social media questionnaire. Stay safe and protect your information this holiday season,’ the bank added.
