Security agencies have recovered a six-year-old boy, who was allegedly kidnapped on December 12, 2025, by a shamba boy employed in his household.
Abraham Mpirwe Tumwesigye, who went missing from Ddungu Zone, Kawempe Division, Kampala District, was rescued on Friday at around 9:30 am. in Busukuma, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, according to police.
‘The child has been safely recovered. Our teams worked tirelessly, analyzing every lead, including the suspect’s social media activity. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice,’ said SP Rachael Kawala, the spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Police.
She said preliminary investigations revealed that on the day of his disappearance, David Muchunguzi, a shamba boy working for Dr Emmanuel Tumwesigye, left with the victim to an unknown destination and failed to return.
‘A case of kidnapping was immediately reported at Universal Police Post, prompting swift search operations. Investigators analysed the suspect’s TikTok videos, which provided crucial leads that enabled security agencies to trace and recover the child safely,’ SP Kawala said on Friday.
According to her, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect who remains at large.
She said that the rescued child will undergo a medical examination before being reunited with his parents.
