One person was killed and six others seriously injured after a truck slammed into a parked crane in Lowman Bay, a coastal community known for its beach, police said on Monday.
They have since identified the dead person as 58-year-old Stephen Bulze and that the accident may have occurred as a result of the truck developing mechanical problems.
‘Preliminary reports indicate that a motor vehicle owned by a private electrical company was travelling towards Lowmans Bay, experienced mechanical issues and crashed into a parked crane,’ the police said in a statement.
‘Additionally, six male workers between the ages of 21 and 54 years old were seriously injured as a result and taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital,’ the police said, adding that an autopsy will be conducted on Bulze’s body and that their investigation is continuing.
