The countdown is over as Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) returns tomorrow for its highly anticipated 11th season, with millions of viewers across Africa expected to tune in for the unveiling of a new set of housemates competing for the biggest prize in the history of the reality television show.
The launch show will air at 7 p.m. on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family, with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returning as host for another season of drama, entertainment, strategy and unexpected twists.
This year’s edition is themed ‘Everything Is For The Taking’, reflecting what organisers describe as a season where every opportunity must be earned as contestants battle for the coveted title.
Raising the stakes, the winner of Season 11 will walk away with a record-breaking ?160 million prize package, comprising ?100 million in cash and a brand-new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), making it the richest prize ever offered in the history of the franchise.
Speaking ahead of the premiere, Executive Head of Content and Channels for West Africa at MultiChoice, Atinuke Babatunde, said the reality show has continued to redefine entertainment across the continent through authentic storytelling and memorable personalities.
According to her, Season 11 builds on the show’s legacy with bigger stakes, fresh twists and an exciting mix of housemates expected to keep viewers engaged from the opening night to the grand finale.
The new season also enjoys strong corporate backing, with BetPawa announced as the headline sponsor. Head of Local Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility at betPawa, Borah Omary Ndanyungu, described Big Brother Naija as one of Africa’s biggest entertainment platforms, saying the partnership is aimed at rewarding fans, deepening audience engagement and creating memorable experiences throughout the season.
Following tomorrow’s launch, viewers will have 24-hour access to activities inside Biggie’s house via DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 49, while the show will also be available for streaming on the DStv Stream and GOtv Stream platforms.
Since its revival in 2017, Big Brother Naija has grown into one of Africa’s most influential reality television franchises, producing several successful actors, musicians, entrepreneurs, media personalities and influencers.
